Are we all aware of it? If any of you happen to see the movie documentation of then USA VP Al Gore, you will see there that we all have a responsibility to do to take good care of this homeland earth. We worry much about politics, terrorism, inflation rate, stock market etc. But do we take a minute to think of our mother earth what if it will vanish in just a snap? In our present situation are we contributing even for a bit to help keep this homeland of ours healthy? or otherwise.

Protecting the environment is indeed one of the least thing that some people have on their list. They just don't care. They never realized that once nature strikes back, there's nothing we can do to stop it and the damage is always enormous. Raging storms, earthquakes, effects of global warming and other natural calamities can be prevented if we only care... A simple maintenance of cleanliness would help a lot, like not throwing your garbage anywhere. Saving water would help too. Planting trees would definitely help. In small gestures of helping nature we can all make a difference. If we can't stop disastrous calamities, we can at least lessen the damages, we've only got one world to live in this mortal life and we must take good care of it, also for the benefit of our future kids and grandkids...

as the gold rule says: do not do unto others the things you dont want to happen unto you. it is we, ourselves are to be blamed for all those nature induced tragedies. let us all be responsible and do our part.

Among many other challanges global warming is the one with maximum disastrous implications in the years to come.At the cost of sounding repetitive ,I don't understand why the developing countries and the developed country don't take the Kyoto pact seriously. If they would have signed and practiced the clauses in the treaty, then it would mean taking a big stride towards fighting global warming. But of course that would be challanging for the progress of the industries and the economies of the respective countries might slow down.Perhaps that's the reason it remains unsigned. It's high time that the global leaders work with some foresight so we don't have to repent tomorrow for decisions they don't make today.

What we have to remember is that we are not destroying the planet; the planet will remain. What we are destroying is an environment that allows humans to live! So we are, in effect, killing ourselves. If we want to survive and allow our children to survive, we must do what we can. Personally, I have 100% wind energy and bought a smaller car to save gas.

I live in north America and we are the biggest polluters of them all. I'm ashamed. All I can say is my husband and I do what we can, by using less gas, riding bikes, using push cutter lawnmower, turning off lights, turning down heat, not using air conditioning, but still there are people who drive their SUV's like theres no tomorrow to worry about. I saw Al Gores movie, and many others like it. His was the best only because it reached a lot of people. I'm very scared.

Yes the environment is important and we should care for it as best we can, and we can do better. On the other hand global warming must be put into its full historical perspective, so I ask you a simple question, have you read or heard about any of the global cooling information fromt the 1970s, when they were talking about the comming ice age. In order to fully consider global warming this data must be included.
