Its been 5 years since I first started playing MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online) games and I got hooked and now I feel its ruining my life. I often end up playing all night long, bunk college, developed irregular food habbits (my food remain on the table untouched) and my social life is like that of Dr. Hannibal Lecter. I even stopped playing those single player games I loved so much. Has anyone gone through what I am going through now and survived, I would love to hear. Please don't advice a therapist because my Dad is one and he gave up on me.

I know what you feel. I played a browser based MMORPG back in 2000 and got hooked on it. i played it for like 4yrs. Im the TOP character that time but i took the courage to delete my character cause I felt its ruining my life. Even if I treasured my character dearly I have to let go of it for my own sake. So yeah, end your game now by deleting your character and save your life. One game to lose and your future will be saved.

Yes, I used to play online all the time, but eventually, and it might take awhile, you will get tired of it. Now I just play when I have the time, but before I used to do nothing but make time to play.
Also, try to look for other interests to distract you from gaming.

Well..playin online games is awesome, but everything that u do excessively, is prejudicial to your health. And u seem to be a person that knows whats happening to you, so i suggest u try to stop playing a little, try to take cares of things of your real life, and put your virtual life aside a little.
