I was really upset about Beyonce's so called comments on Dreamgirls co-star Jennifer Hudson, here are some:
1. "it's an ensemble cast. I knew that going in, and I was fine with that, because I'm not doing this to become a star or prove that I can sing"
2. "I've already won nine grammy's and everyone knows that I can sing, so I did this mainly to prove that i can act."
3. "I wish I could have gained 20 pounds and play Effie. I absolutely would have. But Bill didnt even believe that I could be Deena. So imagine if i would've said, 'Bill, I want to be Effie'".
and lastly...
4. "Jennifer Hudson had such pressure. First of all never being in a film and never done an album and still having to live up to those expectations, she did incredible."
Sour graping?

Perhaps, then again, perhaps not. She wasn't meant to play Effie; She made a better Deena. And to be honest, Jennifer Hudson played to perfection a fine Effie; Effie had to be big; she had to deliver on the pipes and she might could deliver, but she ain't no Effie; but I am glad for her last comment. this was Jennifer Hudson's part, her break and she deserved it; I didn't care for Beyonce singing along to " Love You I Do" at the Oscars but then she sung alone on "Listen". I just didn't care for that.

I don't think she was sour graphing. I'm not really a beyonce fan but I don't think there's anything behind what she said. First, I think it is pretty obvious if one would read the script that the attention wouldn't be on beyonce so she may be right that she knows what she's getting into. On her second comment, she can sing, I like her voice but Jennifer Hudson's voice is in a completely different league from hers. If I won a grammy, I wouldn't prove to anyone that I can sing. On the third, I think she could have phrased her answer nicely or could have completely avoided the question. On the fourth, I think she's just stating the truth. It may even be a compliment. It is true that Jennifer didn't do a film, I don't know about the album part though.
