My son is well behaved at home and studies well at school. He helps me with the household chores also. But the moment a guest comes into the house his behavior changes. He is no more the well-behaved child. He will not allow me even to talk with them. How can I change this usual behaviour?

Is the guest a friend of his, or a friend of yours? If it's a friend of his, he's probably trying to be "cool" in front of his friend. If it's a friend of yours, he's probably trying to get attention, even negative attention, from you, so you don't pay attention to your friend. Good luck!

May feel insecure with other people getting "his" attention... try giving him a bit LESS when people ARENT around and a bit MORE when they are... but dont let him interupt when youre talking to people or he'll learn to be rude and inconsiderate and decide thats hes the center of the universe. Helping with the chores and being well-behaved all the time makes me think that you are doing well with rewarding him for good behavior, but acting like a brat when other people are around makes me think that he may ALSO be getting rewarded for bad behavior... if hes asking for attention while you are in the middle of a conversation with another person, ignore him. It will work wonders. Then, when he stops pestering, and starts being good... reward him with attention.
