I have not only a good recipe but a simple one.
Barbecue Spareribs
4 to 5 pounds of ribs
2 bottles of Kraft mesquite Smoke Barbecue sauce (18 oz)or your favorite brand
1 medium size yellow onion
Salt and Pepper
salt and pepper ribs place ribs in crock pot, chop onion pour in and add one bottle of barbecue sauce now and then throughout the day add a little more. You can add all at once but this lets me feel like I'm actually cooking, LOL. Cook for 4 to 5 hours on high. Serve with baked beans and corn on the cob and everyone will love you.
Hope you enjoy. :) We just had it last weekend they were terrific as always.

Sounds really good. Why do you throw out the bay leaf? Is is not edible? Just curious.

The bay leaf tastes kind of like paper when it's cooking. It adds flavor to soups/stews, but it isn't very good to eat.
This recipe does sound yummy! I may have to try it myself. :)

I have one for beef stew:
On the bottom of the crockpot, put a couple of cut up potatoes, one or two medium onions, 1 or two csrrots, plus green peppers and red pappers, then put in the beef either browned or alone plus salt and pepper to taste or herbs that you like. Mix up together.
Cover with either with a cup or a cup and a half of water, beef stock, or tomato sauce. Keep on low for all day until the meat falls apart. Take out a little of the stock to make gravy, thicken with a tablespoon of flour, return to the crockpot, stir and it should be ready. I do not use a recipe. It should be ready in 10 to 15 hours.

CROCK-POT BAKED BEANS
* 3 lbs Navy beans (6 cups)
* 4 qts water
* 1 lb salt pork - 1 inch cubes
* 6 tsp. salt
* 1 cup chopped onion
* 1/2 cup molasses
* 1 1/2 cups catsup
* 1/2 cup brown sugar
* 4 tsp. dry mustard
Here is a good crockpot recipe for baked beans. Wash and pick over beans. Put into crock pot. Add water, salt pork, salt and onion. Mix well so beans cover pork. Cover and cook on low for 14-16 hours or until beans are tender. Cooking time can be reduced if beansare soaked overnight then cooked on low 10-12 hours. When beans are tender, drain bean liquid, reserving 4 cups. Combine reserved liquid, molasses, catsup, brown sugar and mustard. Add to beans in crock pot; stir well. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours longer.

Old Fashioned Baked Beans
1 small package of navy beans
4 tbsp granulated sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. powdered mustard
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c molasses
1 (2 to 3 oz) salt pork
1 med. peeled whole onion
Soak beans overnight, in the morning drain and replace water. Parboil 10 to 15 minutes, no longer. Place onion in crockpot, drain beans and place on top of the onion. Add flavors dissolved in 1 1/2 cups of hot water. Add enough water to cover the top of the beans. Place salt pork on top. Cover and turn crock on high. Cook the beans 6 to 7 hours. You need to add water about every 2-3 hours. Enjoy!
