Sounds quite interesting ! I sincerely appreciate your determination and hard work put in to achieve your goal in life! Hearty Congratulations and wish you all the best!
I am from India. Here we have two types of graduations, immidiately after passing our XII th standard Board Examinations. One is going in for general Graduation like Bachelor degree either in Science orCommerce or in Arts and in return we get B. Sc or B. Com or B.A degrees. With this type of degrees you can go in for various tyes of jobs which you can change as per your wish , if you don't find job satisfaction! But since in India getting an good employment is a big problem, people often dobn't change their jobs once they are satisfied with the earning part of iot , though it has nothing to do with the subject in which one completed the degree!
Another type of Degrees are technical degrees like Engineering, Medicine, Pharmacy or Veterinary Science etc., where we are certain to take up a job in the given field only! But there also there are many specialisations and we can choose the job as per our choice!
I am a veterinary graduate and have done my post graduation in Animal Genetics and breeding in 1985. Initially I have started my own clinic for small animals, which mostly included pets in my home town , as I never liked the work conditions at the government run Clinics and I was doing quite good at it! I practiced for about 7 to 8 years in this field and having married and got blessed with a son I found that it was becoming bit difficult for me to give time to my family as we were having nuclear family.
So, having given a deep thought, as to which job I shopuld take, I ruled out all possible white Collared Jobs like Lecturers , Scientists or Joining Banks or Insurnce Companies s Mangers as these were not at all my cup of Tea, and I have taken the Job of Assistant Resident Veterinarian in a stud farm. This has helped me to stay myself very closed to my family as I was residing oin the farm only and I was getting jhob satisfaction also!
Having served for about 5 years there I had an opportunity Offered by another Stud Farm to join as a Chief Resident Veterinarian and Manager , where I was solely responsible every thing that was going on the farm. I was very satisfied wirh the Job . But for the better prospect I haver changed this Job also and joined another better farm i the same post with better salary and perks!
Here we are breeding Throughbred horses and raising them till 2 years of age there after we sell them to varuious clients ,who in turn trake them to various trainers situated at various Race Courses in India and also situated abroad to train and run in the Races! This job of mine is challenging as it involves lot of money in terms of cost of horses and we are adopting most recent techniques and medicines to get maximun results ! I am proud to say that the horse bred at our farm has won the biggest Race of the country 'Indian Derby' last year !
Thus at last I feel since I have done post graduation in the field of Animal Genetics and Breeding, I always wanted to do something in this field, but never could imagine that I would be doing it so successfully with such a good returns in the form of income and perks together with respect and dignity!
Thanks for initiating such a nice discussion! All the best!

We love animals. Along with reaching my goal of being a nurse I have raised Sika, Fallow, Red Deer, Ostrich, Minature Horses and Donkeys, and now we raise ALPACAS which are very profitable. One of the Dr.s in the ER where I work raise race horses so I do hear about how it is done in the USA. I have had a couple horses for my children but the intimidate me because of their size I loved my mini's..Thanks for reading my article CLARKEBAR
