Rev. 21:2 says that the holy city, New Jerusalem, will come down out of heaven from God. Any reactions to this statement?

yup. i think we will be in heaven for 1,000 years then the new Jerusalem will be placed on earth and will be our new home. During the 1,000 years we will be consulting with GOD on what the new earth will be like. it is going to be an exciting time!! i can't wait!! we all need to work hard to establish GOD's kingdom so that the second comming can happen soon!!

In my belief, its not categorically say's that the holy city will come down or it may.We know up high that there is God in heaven, but comes judgement day He will send Jesus Christ to gather the people or his servants and bring to the holy city where there's no pains, hunger, tears, but happiness and peacefulness. All things there is perfect where they can see Our God.This world and the universe will be vanished and will no longer exist.

you need to read and study Revelations. Your understanding is not in my humble opinion correct. The world is going to be recreated. The universe will still exist. (see my comments below for more info)

I guess we have different belief not an opinion.Read and and ponder more,it never written in the bible that this world we live will be re-created nor it will become the heaven were all waiting. The truth is this world will be destroyed as the universe.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and the sea is no more (Rev. 21:1). And I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose face earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them (Rev. 20:11). But the day of the Lord will come as a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar, and the elements, burning with intense heat, will be dissolved, and the earth and the works in it will be burned up (2 Pet. 3:10). They (earth and the heavens) will perish, but You remain perpetually; and they all will become old like a garment, and like a mantle You will roll them up; like a garment they will also be changed (Heb. 1:11-12a).
