i know many of us have good neighbors and many of us have some not so good ones, is there a well worn path between you and your neighbors house or have you put up a fence to keep from seing them? things just arnt what they used to be with all the neighbors gathering together in one yard for an evening of fun, some people live nextdoor to someone and never speak. how about you what kind of neighbors do you have?

We are to neither extreme with our neighbors. We talk to them when we are outside in the summer, or if we happen to see them around, but we don't visit for coffee. My parents and my mother-in-law actually visit their neighbors and have been friends for years. I think that here it is because we are the "young" couple in the neighborhood. All our neightbors have children the same age as Chuck and I and grandchildren the same age as our kids.

i imagine its not as easy to have a close relationship with neighbors whom are not close to us in age, my closest neighbors are a cornfield away lol but they do drive by and sop to cha for a few.

Age doesnt matter. I became good friends with an elderly couple in their 80's down the street. I would sit in their huge garden having coffee almost daily. So go meet the elders. They are great to talk to. They always have great stories from days gone by. Thanks.

When we first bought our house, after settling in I went around the neighborhood meeting the neighbours. I hit it off with the family next door. A young couple with 3 children 7, 9, and 10. I used to do their snow blowing every storm. We shared plant cuttings. I always delivered fresh veggies from my garden to them. They were exceelent neighbors. They since sold their house & I still visit them 10 miles away at their new home. Now the new people finally moved in next door. A married woman alone with her son and daughter. I think they are maybe 10 and 8. I've met them but they are still getting settled so I haven't had a chance to really know them yet. Once my garden starts to grow they'll get to know me unless they dislike veggies. Thanks for a great discusion also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I know my neighbour but only talk to them when I see them outside which is very rare. I think it because They work night time and we are morning people. So we hardly see each other. But otherwise we have quite a good relationship...xx

I have nice neighbour and there is no fence between only a wall that separates our houses but there is no such type of communication gap among mine and their families.
