Are they necessary or just a way to sell you something else?

Anyone who uses them, have you found that your baby reacts badly to wipes that have not been warmed. I never personally bought one, but a friend of mine said that she stopped using it because her baby would throw a huge fit if they were out and she had to change her, because the wipes were not warm. Anyone else experience this?

I never have but it makes sense, if your baby is used to warm ones, i could see where it could get difficult to not have warm ones.

It is just a way to get you to buy something else. First time moms are really vulnerable to the sales adds and so that is who they are targeting. There were some times that a cold wipe was all that could wake my oldest up to eat. I agree that no baby likes getting their diaper changed but if your baby doesn't ever have a wipe from a warmer then they won't be that bad off lol.

I don't think people need them!! I never used one with either of my kids.....I know some parents that really like them because they feel bad putting a cold wipe on their baby. But I think it is silly!

When our son was born and we were in the hospital, my hubby would run the wipe under the facet to warm it so the boy's tushy wouldn't get too cold. After that, it was out from the box and onto the butt. I've known some people (my sister included) who bought a warmer, then discarded it. It's a nice gesture, but only if you're an at home mommy. Otherwise, it's a hassle connecting it to the outlets wherever you go.

It might be useful thing to have, but I really don't see the point of it. So I've never got tempted to buy it, Anyway my son can go through winter time without it. I think it's just one of those marketing thing that try to persuade you to buy another unecessary item...xx

I have never heard of this! It is most definately just another way of making money out of new parents! The only time I would consider such a thing is when they are newborn but then I don't use wipes... I use cotton wool and warm water! There have been times when I wanted a warm baby wipe so I have just run it under the hot tap and used it like a flannel! It is amazing the things they invent to make money out of us!!

No, I don't think they're necessary. Although a baby with a cold butt may beg to differ. LOL! I never used anything like that when my daughter was still in diapers. I have friends who have to have all those new gadgets and if they want to spend the money on them I think that's fine. But, I don't remember if a wipe was cold or not when I was a baby so I don't think it made any difference to my daughter either.

I was at a baby shower and people were talking about the wipe warmers and I said that they're basically useless. They all looked at me like I had three heads. Then someone said "Don't you feel bad using cold wipes?" I said it's not like I freeze them then use them, they're just room temperature. They all thought I was crazy. I guess they'll find out on their own that it's more convenient to not have one than to have one. Like someone else said...the kids will get upset if they're not warm enough. What if you have to change them somewhere without the warmer? What then...then you have to deal with a screaming kid. (But maybe they would be anyway). It's just my opinion, but I think they're a waste of money.
