Do you have any credit cards of any kind? Are you very protective of the recipts when you use them at stores etc? Did you know some stores machines still print all the account number on the reciept? At my wifes work she comes across many people that hand her their copy saying throw this away please. Unreal. Here is an article about a large million dollar crime involving credit card rip offs. It's unreal the amouint these criminals stole. please read this. Remember to take your reciepts and rip them up or better yet shred them as there is a lot of info on them that can be used for theft in the wrong hands. http://www.infoworld.com/article/07/03/21/HNtjxarrests_1.html Happy postings from grandpa bob!!

I always check the store copy they do not need the number if they are using a credit card machine if for some reason it prints on their copy I scribble out all but the last 4 numbers. I keep all my reciepts until I get my bill or the warrenty on a product is no longer good then I destroy them. I did here something interesting on the news last night. If you do a search on your credit card number and get a hit, your number has more than likely been stolen. and being sold to other people. That is scary

Most machines will only show the last 4 digits. But smaller businesses still use outdated machines that show all 16 or 15 digits. Thanks for the response and.... HAPPY CHARGING FRM GRANDPA BOB !! (hee hee)

We actually have a pre paid credit card. Most times we just have a little bit on the card, but if we want to make a big purchase and we don't want to carry cash around, we'll put the money on the card and use the card. My partners credit rating isn't brilliant, and we were told that having this card would help that. I have to say it is helping. He was recently given credit to get a cell phone contract which he hasn't managed to get before so things are improving. Most places I know here now do not print the entire card number on the receipt. I'm not sure whether it's even legal or not to be honest. We make sure we have our receipt every time anyway, because with us only using the card to purchase big or expensive items, we'd need to receipt to return it should the item be faulty.

I just applied for one of those...my bank helped me get it..I just had to put a certain amount of money in my savings account to back it up, then the card will behave like a real credit card. Every once in a while I need to rent a car, so I can use this "prepaid" card to rent the car, but use my debit card to pay for it. I have bad credit, so this prepaid card is great. My only concern is if my old debts will return to haunt me...it's been seven years, maybe more...and I'm still just as poor. Which is ok with me, I don't mind being poor, oh well..good thing there's no such thing as "debtor's prison"....I'll use my new credit card once in awhile, and then pay it off immediatley, that way I can start rebuilding my credit.

We pay by debit card a lot and it would never occur to me to ask for my receipt to be thrown away, what if I needed to exchange someting or proof I was at the restraunt in the sad event of being poisoned? Luckily I do not have any credit cards as I do not like the idea of having luxuries I cannot afford, so we manage on day-to-day cash, lol.

There is so much theft in the world today and I'm just fresh out of ideas what a person can or should do next unreal !!! When you pay with a credit card some say it is a good idea to make sure you get your copy which I do but really when they have the credit card number anyway, it wouldn't be much of a problem. I also ask for the carbon paper, but again, you just don't know do you ?

I normally keep mine for a while - just in case I might need to reverse wrong charges, etc. From time to time, then I will destroy them. I agree it's dangerous to leave them around.

I usually keep all my receipts from the very first day that i have acquired my credit cards, up to now they are still with me. I guess this is much safer from card theft.. someday if I have decided to get rid of them, probably I will just burn the recipts in my backyard. hope you keep them and just burn them too..someday..

I am very careful about my credit card receipts. After i get them to my home, i usually burn them. There are cases where people who shred the receipts, the thieves managed to get the info from the shred parts so i prefer to burn them out completely..

Where I work I have noticed that sometimes on the print out the persons number is all there and others only a portion of it. I often wondered why this was. Are some peoples cards maybe set up this way,? I do not think it is the store we have a new system and it does some with all numbers and some not, this may be something that has to be requested by customer. I really do not know.

I'd have to ask management about this one. Seems it should either show all or show just the last 4. Somethings wrong here I think. Thanks for the response also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

My mother did housekeeping many years ago also. She told me many times of guests even leaving the card behind. How can one "forget" their credit card in a hotel room? Why didn't they put it in their wallet/purse after it was used? Unreal. Thanks for the response. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I havent seen any reciepts that show your full credit card number in a very long time most of the ones I have seen show the last 4 digits. It goes the same for your bank account number be careful who you write a check to if someone has your savings or checking account they can pay all their bills online using your info. Recently my sister had her credit card stolen and we knew who did it. The police didnt investigate it or do anything and the credit card company wouldnt press charges unless its over $500. Luckily they did remove the charges but still I guess it means crime pays if you do it a little at a time.

Some smaller businesses can't afford the newer machines and still use older ones that print all the numbers. I've seen it a lot using my cards. Glad they took that off your sisters card also. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!

I have 5 credit cards and I always get the receipt and keep them in a safe place for sometime. Whenever my bills arrive, I do check them against the receipts. I am extra careful when it comes to credit cards because a lot of thefts and modus operandi are being employed by criminals here.

I always kept the receipt with me for a while. I tend to forget what I'm charging my credit card for. Its giving me headache seeing those receipts. But after comparing it with the billing statement, then I make sure to tear the receipts or better yet, let my bunny bite it to pieces...LOL!!! Happy postng, grandpa.

Thanks for the info. But from what I do know, any payments made with credit cards, there are always 2 copies. The customer and the vendor. So what ever it is, you receipt will not be the only copy. Store machines now adays should not be able to print the account number on the receipt. If I know of any that do, I'll just pay by cash.

actually brushes the credit card in the nerwork to have the risk, but is not extremely big.Its system itself also is can small which comes compared to the netword credit card, but very is actually difficult to say.We in are dark in the bright enemy.Really if some people must make the misdemeanor I to think we have are do not have the means...
