Imagine your room without CURTAINS??

Strange .. I know .. but I was wondering how we all wanna always make sure that there are curtains in each and every room of the house .. well yes avoiding bright sunlight is one good reason but arent we not really concerned of the light .. what we want is privacy .. we really dont want mrs. neighbours knowin whats cooking in the house .. we want some things to be best kept to ourselves and imagining a room without curtains is just not a reality anymore .. curtains are an important element of room decor today ..

I don't hang curtains to keep out the light,I do for the very reason you said,the privacy!I couldn't stand it if people were walking by my house and able to look in,see what we are doing,wearing,have for company,watching on TV or anything else.....i very seldom open the curtains in the front of my house for this very reason

Firstly tad I must thank u for consistently replying to most of my posts .. and secondly thanks for understanding my discussion topic just as i put it down ..
yes i prefer curtains closed for privacy cos my neighbors are little tooo nosy .. :)

The curtains in my house are big expensive ones. especially the ones in the livingroom but the strange thing is that we never ever close them. We live up really high and only have a school across the road so no one can see in at all.

curtains are the clothes of the house, without it the house feels naked. imagine you walking around naked... uneasy right. that is what i feel when my house has no curtain. i might not even have a good night sleep if i will not put curtain.

This is kind of funny that you posted this discussion. We just finished re-doing the living room and I haven't gotten any cutains up yet. Luckily for me though when it comes to privacy, we live in the middle of the country with neighbors that live a long way down the road so nobody can really see in.

I would feel VERY self-concious! Our windoes are large and very low, being as our house is a victorian terrace. I wouldn't want the lack of privacy of having no window dressings, that would be horrible! Especially on our bedroom windows. We have voile up at the windows permanently to let the light through but keep our privacy, and that's how i like it and how it's staying!

Not only do I want curtains for privacy but they are good insulation. Glass is a very poor insulator and I live in a cold country where that is a real factor. I have a skylight and french doors that don't have curtains, and the rooms are much colder then they should be.

um... i had my room without curtains for 3 years cuz my mom didnt order any more curtains(my lil bro breaked em all),yeah i agree that curtains are important but not that important i mean if we even do not have curtains are house is surrounded by a wall so no1 can really see wats happening inside with or without curtains and as for sunlight,it dosnt disturb my sleep....

That would be scary you would like look through them and think you see someone outside, and they can see everything u your doing SCARY lol
