Yahoo is just one in a long line of internet communications and networking software. The first were actauly email, bullitin boards and Intrent Relay Chat (irc). I wonder if the scientists who created it (the internet) originaly for scientific communication ever imagined what it would become?

Ummmm... no... Long before the world wide web was around, there were BBS (bulletin board systems) and even ways of chatting. Like someone else said... IRC (internet relay chat). IRC was my first experience with the internet. The world wide web was still brand new at the time, so there wasn't much to surf.

NO, actually it was invented in Europe by a group of scientists as an easy way to share discoveries and information. If you go to the facility they even have a plaque stating that this was where the Internet was invented. I cant remember but I'm sure its in Sweden.
