By looking at your specifications you should be able to upgrade to vista but your best bet is to go to the microsft vista page and run the scan they provide. It well tell you if you computer needs any upgrades. Even though my computer meets the minimum requirements it told me that I should upgrade my vedio card and ram.

Yes, it seems that your hardware can support the windows vista operating system. I had ever tested my computer with the vista specifications, but it don't support it. In my opinion, you'd better not update it soonly, because windows vista is still in beta version, there must be many bugs in it, so you'd better waiting for the full version carried out and then updating your operating system.

Well it does look like you would meet the requirements, as the other responder said microsoft has a program that will tell you if you can. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx
that's the site to go to for the upgrade advisor.
