Do you journal by hand?

I like to do most of my journaling on the computer so that I can have my choice of fonts etc. A little while ago someone told me that my scrapbooks are a really for future generations and I should preserve my memories in my own handwriting. Sometimes I do it that way, but not often. How do you journal?

That is a good point. I don't have a printer and so I have always journaled by hand. I find it hard to think of things that I won't feel silly about writing later on. I usually just do the date, and the new things she is able to do (she's 5 months), what she got for holiday presents. I'm not really sure what else to write about in there.

That is alot of what I put in my kids' scrapbooks. One other thing that you could do is write about how you felt when she hit her milestones and when she was born etc. It will be something that she will treasure forever when she becomes an adult.

I do probably 75% in my own handwriting. However, there are times I like to use different fonts, so I came up with a way to do that and have the appearance of being handwritten. If interested you can email me at t_easy_scrapping@yahoo.com or visit myspace page, I have photos posted there.

I write my journal before i go to bed at night so i write it by hand while lying thinking about the day that has just passed. When i get a laptop that might change, i might start a private blog and do it that way or i might just do that aswell.

Yes, I do about all my journaling by hand. Sometimes I use stencils and sometimes I use stickers but mostly I do it all just using my penmanship!!!

I did a scrapbook for my grandfather's 80th birthday and did all the journaling on computer. However, in my children's books, I do all of the journaling by hand. I think in years to come, seeing my handwritten comments will mean so much more to them than typed words.

I do 90% of my journaling by hand. I think it just adds my personal touch to the pages. But to be honest and perhaps a little selfish I do have beautiful handwriting. My best friend on the other her writing is pratically unreadable, so she does a lot of journaling on the computer. But for certain special pages like ones she dedicated to her daughters she hand writes the journaling and just tries to take extra care.

I do 90% by hand and I do alot of stamping. When you think about it this book will be around when you are no longer of this earth. And your loved ones would like to see your handwriting. It is someting that is unique to only you. ANd it may be fun for your great great grand daughter to see that she writes alot like you one day. I think that would be a very cool thing. JUst a thought! Happy scrapping rhonda

Too true. Sometimes I worry that I'll sound really sappy to future generations, but that is how I am so they might as well know. I think I put enough pages with my handwriting in things for them to get the idea, but I have been putting it in more and more because it is easier than kicking my husband off the computer so I can have the printer. :)

I do mine on the puter too as my hand writing leaves alot to be desired. That way most people can read it and not have to decipher what I wrote.
