What if someone calls late at night?

Do you still have time to answer calls if your phone rings late at night? My Dad usually switches off his cellphone when he's already in bed because he hates people to call him in an unearthly hour except if he's waiting for some important calls. But My Mom would always tell him not to do that at least if there's an emergency call, they could still be able to attend to it. When my Dad gets irritated to my Mom's nags, sometimes, he'd let his phone switched on but not to its highest volume. Do you also do this? I mean, do you also switch off your phone late at night? :)

If you hav someone that can possibly make emergencial calls, like heal problems, or someone near you is out late, just check the possible numbers and get the phone.
If not, just turn off the phone/cell. It is improbable that 2 diferrent people call in the same night.

no calls get answered in my home after midnight or before 6 in the morning. Nothing, absolutely nothing, gets in the way of this rule

My phones are always on. The only time it is turned off is when it's out of battery and the charger is not with me. And, I do answer calls even if it's very late at night, coz it might be something important. I'm a heavy sleeper anyway, so unless it rings for a few minutes, i won't wake up.

If someone call me late in the night without any good reason, I will tell him or her off. I would like to relax the last few hours before going to bed.
Another, My mobile is alway on and alway on silent mode, thus I will alway miss the call in the night, which is a good thing.

hi. according to me one should keep his mobile on while sleeping because you never know what happens when. Say if there is an emergency related to you and the person is not able to contact you, this may cause you the life of someone or some huge losses in business. Phone is for the purpose to contact you so it should never get switched off. And if you switch it off giving priority to your sleep which according to me is the worst work to be done then I really don't have words to say about you I can just feel pity and pray god to give you some brain.

I think would probably leave my phone on at night in case there was an emergancy, but then again if you have a home phone then they would probably try that if they couldnt get a hold of you yah know. Anyways, if it was a company calling a lot then id probably turn my phone off and just have eveyone know if there is an emergacy call the home phone.

i'd still answer, if i hear my phone:P ..if i don't get to answer the call in time and if i'm really sleepy, then i wouldn't be bothered to call back hehe. if i receive an sms late at night when i'm sleeping also i wouldn't purposely get up just to check it, i'll wait till the next morning when i'm up.

I usually switch off my cell phone when I go to bed at night. I don't like to be bothered while sleeping. Once the bell rings when I am asleep, then it will be hard for me to fall asleep once again. Therefore I make it a rule to turn it off when I sleep.

I don't switch off my cellphone. I usually accept calls late at night if it is my hubby calling. Well, that is if I can we up at his calls. LOL I just put its volume to its average level. In that manner it could not disturb my sleep.

My eldest child has now moved into a home of his own,so now I answer the phone whenever it rings. If he had an emergency,I want to be able to help immediately. Before he moved out though, as long as all of my children were tucked into bed & my partner is home with me I turned the ringer in our bedroom off at night. I suppose if my mother called repeatedly I'd hear the phone in the living room & answer.

i don't have any problem from the late night calls, my parents do have it but i don't care about the call, but if someone is doing for fun then he pays for it.
sometimes there can be some emergency calls as most of you are saying about it, so the mobile or the ring of the telephone should set that it can be audible and others don't get disturbed by that.

I always leave my mobile on at night. I hate it when people call me early in the morning (my friends, knowing this fact, make it their duty to phone me early in the morning), but it's worth the annoyance because there's always that slight chance that somebody will call who really needs me.

If someone calls late at night i usually screen the call by first checking call display and then decide whether or not to answer.
