School Dress Codes getting ridiculous??

Maybe it's b/c I'm a teenager but I really think that schools are making the dress codes ridiculous. Next year at my school they're going to ban the wearing of flip flops and hoodies. I also heard that ur pants aren't allowed to be a little frayed. That is just plain ridiculous. What do u think?? Is there really a good reason to ban these items in school?
