About 5 1/2 years ago I moved away from my home town in Colorado. Inturn, I moved away from all of my friends. We keep intouch, but not as much as I would like. Over the years there have been fewer and fewer phone calls. And now it seems that the only way we keep in touch now is through web pages like myspace or vox. If any one can give me any ideas of way that makes it easier to keep in touch with long distance friends that would be great!!!

Me too. I keep in tocuh with most of my friends, wherever they are and always make it a point to send them a mail on their b'days. A few close ones, i call regularly. I know calling can be expensive if you are in another country but its still worth the money to hear the voice of people you have been friends with all your life. I always put in more effort even if i feel my friend isnt responding as much.

i am a kind of person who always try to reach out with long lost friends.. even to friends who had been to other countries and started their lives there. friendster is the best way for us to communicate and update ourselves with how our friends are doing. ijust don't email my friends, i ask for their addresses and send them small gifts and letters especially if there are occasions coming up. hurts but not all of my friends are like me. some just don't care at all and are not willing to reach out and continue the communication.
just like you, there are lots of friends who aren't as responsive as me. but in life, i've learned that not all people are like me. we all are different. even if we try hard to reach out for them, they just simply don't care at all. so, better for us to just continue on what we are doing. atleast we are happy. it's up for our friends on how to respond to us. we can't do anything about it but hope a little bit more, that one day, they might want to reach out for us, too.
