Are your parents divorced or Married?

I didn't answer more to this originally, because I thought that this would be deleted. Since it is still here, I guess that I will provide a better answer. Of course, it will be just my luck that it will get deleted right after I type this.
My parents are still married, and I know quite a few people that have been married for a lot of years. I think that while there might be more divorces now than ever before, there are probably more happy marriages now than before, too. In the past, it was not only very difficult to get a divorce but also a societal taboo. Therefore, people stayed in unhappy marriages for many reasons. I am sure that people still do that today, but I do not think that they account for a large percentages of the marriages that last.
In this day and age, people say that it is too easy to get a divorce, so people do not work on their relationships. That argument may have some merit. On the other hand, using the same logic, if people stay married, then it is because they want to not because they have to. This would suggest that they are happy in their marriage (or at least content), and that it fulfills their needs.
