Hello friends here in mylot, i have recently registered in ebay as one of my online friend told me that we get stuffs really cheap from ebay. But so far i haven't done any shopping online and i don't know whether to go for it or not. I saw the prices were very attractive in ebay some second hand and other first hand stuffs also.
Rather than this are is there other sites also which are to be trusted, actually i have no idea about online shopping as i have not done so, Do you guys do internet shopping?, How safe is it?
Please give me some tips what to do and what not to do, thank you all in advance.

I've been shopping on Ebay since 2000, and I've only had one fraudulent experience with a computer sale. On line stores are only as good as the people who run them and the people who trade on them. Read the descriptions carefully as well as the sales rules put forth by the seller. Nobody wants bad feedback and most will give you a refund on something that didn't turn out right. You'll need to be careful about people who overcharge on the shipping. Most people will only give you a refund on the purchase price. That's why some will list only a small fee for item itself, but charge a ridiculous sum for the postage. You can get some great deals, but buyer beware.

I'm a big fan of shopping on Ebay. There are a couple of things you need to look out for. Make sure that people have a lot of positive comments about their transactions and make sure that you aren't going to pay excessive amounts for shipping before you bid on an item. It's pretty safe to shop on Ebay because most people take PayPal and PayPal insures you up to $2,000 in case someone on Ebay scams you.

I love to buy from ebay. You can often find things that you can't find anywhere else such as a favorite book from your childhood, or a chenille bedspread that I recently bought. My sister asked me to find some old fashioned hair curlers for her, and I did. She was so excited when I gave them to her.
I like to buy from people who have a good rating, like 100% positive feedback and who have quite a few transactions, like at least 50 or more. Buy something inexpensive first until you get the hang of it. I think you will catch on quickly.

well, if you want to buy online shopping, at least, do a bit of reality check and read carefully the advert. Especially on Ebay. It's fun if you can get a cheap prices compares to real store prices, but it is also possible that you will end up paying more than if you buy from a store or for 5 dollar more you will get brand new.
So....do also reality check, read good the advert, if you have any questions just ask (even a simple one) before you definitely buy/bid the items, set a maximum price of what you are willing to pay for because it's tempting to go higher and higher than other bidders. Find a save way of payment that if something goes wrong you can still claim to get your money back.
Good luck !!!

One more thing. For certain items that you think the price is just to good to be true. Than it is to good to be true....you'll risk losing you money.

I used to be really into Ebay but I have had too many problems with them. They really dont care about the little people!

No he's not insulting you. He's talking about little people used in this context -
The rich and powerful CEOs of big business, like gas companies, don't care about the 'little people' who have to buy gas every week for their cars and can barely afford it.
The term just means the common everyday person who works for a living and has to be frugal to some extent as opposed to the rich and powerful folks who could care less about us "little people."
Hope that makes sense.

Hi healer!
I was a little gunshy about online shopping and ebay. So I just picked something cheap - I put in a bid for a book and won it. eBay is pretty good. It tells you what to do next until transaction is complete. I've also bought used books on Amazon pretty much the same way.
My biggest eBay purchase was for an external hard drive. I had bought one before at retail for over $100.00 and hoped I could get something cheaper. I spent half the night in bidding wars and losing - til I finally won a model I'd never heard of for about $60. I prayed I had not just bought a $60 rock. But it was delivered and works fine.
I have to stay off eBay because I am addicted to bidding wars - but my credit card is not. haha Just start with something small and inexpensive and let eBay guide you.
Let us know what you get. :)

I just went to eBay and did a search for Scott Hamilton, the Olympic Gold Medalist in figure skating. He wrote an excellent autobiography called "Landing It" which is taking bids right now. There's about 2 hours left and the starting bid is $1.99 and so far nobody has bid on it. There is a button there that says "Place bid."
For me it went to a login page wanting my user name and password so I filled that in and signed in.
Next it wants my bid and it tells me the minimum bid I can enter. Here it says "Enter US $1.99 or more"
That's what I mean by it guides you and tells you what to do. I'm not continuing because I already have the book and don't want to buy another one. haha
Hope that helps. :)

Ebay dealingsare generally very good. For dealing in Ebay I understand that a Paypalaccount is essential. Paypal is buyerfriendly, and supports the intrests of buyers. Thingswill be OK as long as we get good stuff. If we are cheated or a substandard goods are delivered then it is very difficult to get the store exchanged, although Paypal helps us.

I am a huge eBay junkie, in fact I don't buy from anywhere else for clothes, makeup or shoes and no, I hardly ever buy second hand most of the time I buy new, in the box or with the tags attached at a third of the cost. It takes some time to find the best deals but they are on eBay and sometimes you have to ask for them, say a buyer is selling an item but has a crazy shipping amount most times I will ask that the buyer reduce their shipping telling them that I am not buying the shipping but I am buying the item, most times they do reduce their price. There is also items on there (new) that have make an offer and you can name your price, you can get some really good deals. I have just turned my boyfriend onto eBay with his clothes, he was paying for $38 for wrangler jeans now I buying them on eBay for $6, the savings is amazing. eBay is very safe and secure especially if you pay with Paypal that insures you will be satisfied with your product or you can get a refund.

Shopping on e-bay is well worth the savings! There are just a few tips to follow, always read the whole listing before bidding. Check the seller's feedback comments. It they have a few negatives that sound alike, avoid buying from them. (IE: Ignored e-mails, took a month to get item, item was not as described, etc.) Try to avoid sellers who won't accept a payment via Paypal. When you pay through paypal and something goes wrong, you can always file a dispute. Happy shopping!

I have used Ebay before to purchase items but I believe the intended target (selling beanie babies is WHY it was first started) of selling used items has completely gone away and I would say that over 95% of what you see on EBay are brand new items.
Watch how many items the person has sold... their rating (and read the bad, a lot of times it is a disgruntled customer or just BS) and then ALWAYS pay with PayPal.
This should keep you out of trouble and you should have a happy online shopping experience.

I love eBay:-) I have bought some great bargains through auctions and on a buy it now, and I have also sold things too. On line shopping is no more dangerous than ordinary shopping in my opinion, and you have the advantage of having your shopping delivered too.

I buy and sell on eBay. When you search for an item, don't forget to go to the end of the listings and check the eBay stores too. They will have things that you can buy without bidding on them, or they'll give the price they'd LIKE to get but might accept a "best offer." Just don't offer less than 30% off their price -- if they were willing to take less than that they'd auction it. Best advice is to READ EVERYTHING, EVERY TIME. Most of the steps you need to take to bid or buy are clearly shown on each page. Good Lick and have fun!

Ebay is certainly an interesting site for viewing and buying items. I think it has the widest range of items because everyday, members would publish things they wanted to sell or buy. Occasionally, I would go in there to hunt for items I am interested in.
As to the safety of using internet purchase, no one can be very sure. It is most important to keep your antivirus and firewall up to date.

I have bought a lot of things through Ebay and have been pretty happy with almost all of my purchases. I put togetherr Native American Crafts and when I win glass beads the sellers usually will send extras for me. I also go on aquabid to buy live tropical fish. If I cannot find the fish that am looking for in my local area tropical fish stoors I will look and usually find the ones on there. Yes the shipping is high because of the weight of water but since I breed fish I can usually get that back and more when I sell the young fish.
