If your talking about an allowance, I never gave my kids one. I told them if they wanted money that. it was my responsibility at the time to give it to them if it was worth it. On the other hand in return they had to behave to my liking. Maybe you should have it taken away. When you get a real job if you mouth off you will lose the whole paycheck. Notice the similarities. Behavior has a lot to do with life. Learn now.

Since most of my kids are in lower grade school (and their school is near our residence), we usually give them US$ 0.50 (or P20) and a pack of foods/ goodies.

My kids have to work, they paid for chores like MyLot lovers (smile) Nah, um I give my kids the ability to earn their pocket change. Average about 2-3 dollars per week. For big jobs $5.

I don't have any children but when I was younger my parents used to give me an allowance. When I was about 9 or 10 I started getting $5 a week. Then when I was about 11 or so my parents started making me do chores for my allowance. At that point they started giving me about $10 a week. Then as I got older it started getting higher. By the time I was in high school they were giving me $30 a week, which included my lunch money, and that was only if I finished all of my chores. As a teenager I always wanted more money and thought it wasn't fair that I only got $30 a week. But looking back on it now, $30 was more than enough for what I "needed".
