i have to coworkers that can not come back to work pending the out come of thier cases.one worker got suspended with out pay because she slamed her brakes on. see i am a bus driver. because she slamed her brakes on some students got bruises on them . now it could have been for a number of resones why she did what she did and you know what the only one that will know the right answer is her. it is pritty sad that our own boss can not stand up for her drivers. her excusie is because she is managment. the other coworker got surved protective papers from his long exgirlfriend that only wanted him to makes babies with. now that she has her babies by him she wants nothing to do with him and she does not want him in the kids life at all. so he respects her wishes but i can tell that it hurts him inside. he sees those two boys everyday and can not do anything about it either. his exgirlfriend said that he threatened to kill her on the working grounds and the boss and someother people were standing outside and he did nothing of that sorts. how can you go on with life and not do anything about your workers when you know that they did nothing wrong?

The biggest problem our bus system has is that the bus drivers do NOT have an additional adult to watch the kids so the driver can concentrate on the road. I guarantee that if the drive who slammed on her breaks had an additional adult or two on her bus to watch the kids and keep them in there seats NO ONE would have gotten hurt at all.
I know for a fact that the person who drives the bus my kids ride on also has problems with a few kids and she cant always controll them when she also has to drive the bus and get the kids to school on time, and safe.
I honestly believe that every single bus NEEDS 2 or more adults on it, 1 to drive and at minimum 1 to keep an eye on the kids so the driver dosnt have to take there eyes off the road.

I can understand what you are saying, I am a veteran school bus driver of 25 years as well as having had five years of being the classroom instructor for driving. In the first case, the suspension is normal. Children got hurt and there has to be an investigation. If they find her at fault she may get a longer suspension, but if they find she is not at fault she will be reinstated with back pay. The instructor in me says she will be found to ve at fault, because there is no reason to slam on the brakes hard enough to cause injury to your passengers. Having had to to that shows she was either not paying attention to her driving or not paying attention to the children and they were not seated properly. As far as the second case goes, personal issues should not be allowed in the workplace. Accusations that are unfounded should not be allowed to ruin anyone's life. If the woman wants to keep the man away from the kids then she can do it through due process, coming to his place of work to cause trouble can be considered harrassment.

thankyou for responding to my discution, buti have just one thing to say. it does not matter if she slammed her brakes on hard or soft. those kids are not sitting right and you can you do what ever you want to get those kids sitting right but as soon as you take your eyes off of them they go back sitting the way they want to and you know that. she is the only one that knows the reason why she did what she did. anyone would stick up for her in a heart beat. i have slammed my brakes on and yes the kids did get flung forward and you know what i have told them was this "if you where sitting the right way in your seat and your back packs on your lap you would not have gotten hurt.

That is very true, but the company will say she is at fault, because she is responsible for the behavior and the driving. Not always fair, but nothing you can do. If you have a system in place for discipling children or getting them put off the bus then you should use it and if you don't have a disciplinary system in place, then you should request your company to get one. Drivers have no hope of controlling the children on the bus if they know they can get away with wathever they want.
