Do you get wired or relaxed when you drink coffee?

I've had a huge hankering for coffee over the last few days. I don't know if this is because I've quit smoking so I'm having strange cravings or if its just because I want a double chocolate mint latte and I want it NOW! The problem is, that when I drink coffee, whether one cup of MillStone Kahlua Caramel or that much desired Double Chocolate Mint Latte, I get wired. Too much and I climb the ceiling.
I sometimes envy those who can drink an after dinner cup of coffee and find it relaxing. I love the taste of it but I find decaffeinated disappointing. So how does coffee affect you?

I love coffee, but it will give me the shakes, as I must have atleast 3 cups or so. Sometimes, I have ground up my own, and used decafe Milstone, and it is quite good. Give that a try if you don't want to be wired. The gormet columbia will not disappoint you.

I'm glad you found it to be good, as I do for decafe. Have a wonderful day my friend.

Well I drink regular Millstone on a daily basis but I have never tried decaf as well my previous experience with the taste of other brands decaf has been less than enlightening. Yet on your recommendation, I bought a pot of my favorite flavor in decaf and surprisingly it was rather rich in both texture and aroma. I was very impressed. Thank you for the suggestion!

I've been drinking so much coffee for so long, that i don't think it really does much to me at all. I can go out for coffee, then go home and pass out.
My new thing is energy drinks. I've been downing one or two of them on days that I work, andthat seems to work for now. LOL.

If it's just a regular day coffee actually relaxes me, because I absolutely LOVE the taste of it!!! If I am stressed, however, coffee absolutely wires me...not a good thing, since I tend to sit and eat coffee beans right out of the bag the way some people chainsmoke when they are upset.... sometimes I even dip them in my fondue pot full of chocolate! LOL

I actually don't react very strongly. I do feel a bit more awake after that first cup of the morning. I also feel a bit more energized with an after dinner cup. I try not to drink it after 7 pm because I am afraid of being too wired to sleep.

Pretty much the same as the others. I always drink it in the morning, but it's kind of a habit. I don't feel like it wakes me up any. Lots of times I drink a cup right before bed extra strong and makes me relaxed and sleepy.. When I quit smoking I drank 20 cups of coffee a day. I think it does have something to do with that.

I guess the difference is with me I drink coffee as a treat because I'm not supposed to have it at all. I have a high heart rate and things like coffee, caffeinated tea, soda, etc., they all raise it quickly. I drink them for a quick pick me up occasionally or just for the taste but if I drink it too late I am up all night.

I can only have one dose of coffee each day.. and I prefer to take it ice-cold.. If I drink too much coffee in a day, I get strange palpitations.. It's like I'm nervous with something.. that sort of feeling..

Coffee always relaxes me. I like to just sit and close my eyes and sip my freshly made hot cup of coffee. None of my friends will drink regular coffee after dinner because it "keeps them up" but I'm the opposite. It doesn't affect my sleep or make me jittery (unless it's 8 cups of coffee in 2 hours while talking to friends...but that hasn't happened much since college)

Coffee relaxes me. I can drink it all day and it doesn't keep me awake. I love the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning. I also like the smell of fresh ground coffee. I always inhale deeply when walking down the grocery aisle and someone is grinding the coffee beans. Smells so good!

I love a strong blend of coffee less sugar and no milk. but then, i felt i should stop drinking coffee since it affects my breathing. it was difficult to get away with coffee but with perseverance, i did it,like coffee had been a part of my life since i had been to college. amazing but even it's aroma, i can resist now.
