I am asking this, because when my daughter was 8 weeks old I had her ears pierced and everyone says that I was so cruel and on and on. But to be honest, I thought this was the best age because she will just feel like they have always been there and not bother with them when she is older. So I was getting others opinions on the ages they thought was good to pierce a babys ears.

Personally the right age would be when your daughter is old enough to make the decision for herself. I would be disappointed had my mother pierced my ears.

No I think mutilate is the proper words coming from someone with experience. As I stated I would be disappointed if my mother pieced my ears. I do not allow my employees to wear earrings to give you an idea. If my mother had pierced my ears it would have been against my beliefs and it would be considered mutilation.

Well in our household it isnt mutilation nor in our beliefs. A little girl is allowed to have earrings and be pretty. A litle girl is supposed to shine and earring just add to it. There are much worse things in this world then earrings, some people need to calm down and take life as it comes. Not get so uptight about everything in life.

I want to get my daughters ears pierced, she is only five. I ask her if she wants them pierced she asked "is it going to hurt?" I say yes . So she decided to wait. I see people in the malls getting babys ears pierced...Boy do those baby's cry. I think you should wait until they tell you that they want their ears pierced.

i had my daughters pierced at 8 wks as well, the dr. said the sooner the better because once they start getting older their lobes get thicker and it hurts more, and they said since their memory is so short they forget within 5 minutes.as long as the dr. ok'd it i did it. and she did once she got her first set of shots.

i got my daughter's ears pierced a day after her birth date. her doctor (pediatrician), which is also a relative, suggested that it would be better for me to have her ears peirced as early as possible so that she wont have to suffer too much pain when she gets old which at that time, she is more aware of the thing called "PAIN".
