What's your secret?

SO AC has a contest going on right now for the person who rights the best essay on their biggest secret. However I have a fine reputation with AC (they even offered me a real job with another website), and I do not want to tarnish my reputation with them. WHat would you write about if you were in my situation? Is there certain boundaries that should not be crossed?

I never enter those where you might get something and you might get nothing. I tend to only write articles that I would want an employer to see, as I often want to use AC on my resume. But I never actually have, so maybe I should write some more risky articles. I suppose you could already say that some of mine are fairly risky. That is awesome that you got a job offer through them.

Well if it is a Big secret that would mean you would not want to share it with anyone. I wonder how many people will just make one up to write about? I can honestly think of one . I must have hidden it even from myself. Or I dont have one. How boring is that. Good luck .

Personally I don't think it is ever good to put anything into cyberspace that you don't mind having there forever. My secrets would not qualify. I am amazed that people will put such personal things out there, as if thousands of people, including potential employers, won't see them. I would pass this contest by unless you had something very tame, in which case, it might not be very "winnable."

While it might be a great opportunity to win a contest, personally I would err on the side of nothing that could be used against you by a future employer. Lots of people do web searches now before they hire people and it isn't just with the AC community that you could ruin your reputation if you admitted to something scandalous. Better to lose the contest than to lose opportunities later.

I don't want to come across as mean but you wrote "rights" instead of "writes". They offered you a job? Like I said I don't want to come across as mean. Just bringing something to attention. Have a great weekend.

I didn't want to say anything, but I caught that, two. Mehehehehe, I wrote "two" on purpose. In all honesty, I don't see how getting a job offer through AC had anything to do with the rest of the post.
