I want to create 3d/2d movies

Can anyone tell me the correct software to make 3D/2D movies. I want some handy and easy to use software. Also I want to incorporate characters from real world i.e my friends. Don't think that I am overhyping. I have heard about maya, is it the correct one. No matter how hard is to learn any software but it should be able to let import real world characters and design my own animated movie/video. (No programming should be required)
Plz: Don't suggest gif animators and flash proffesionals.
Suggest something nice and powerful.

there are numerous software products out there to do this with, personaly i use cinema 4d. theres maya, thats the one the big studios use, studio 3d max, adobe dimensions and truespace to anme a few. but they can take a long time to learn and making a full mivie takes a team of people and a group of high end computers. do some research, read some books, and play with an inexpensice software package to get a feel for it. i believe there are some basic free ones out there but i cant testify for their funtionality.

yes we can have free open source software as well. hm..... let me think... ya we have Blender. goto http://www.blender.com for more info.....

Making 2d/3d films are not so easy as you think. You can use softimage,3dmax studio, maya,etc for making 2d/3d films, but it can be never easy. You should consider taking up some good course or download some e-books and learn from them.....

Hard work is not an issue for me. I am passionate. I just wanted to know whether I can create animated movies with maya. The question is IS CREATING ANIMATED MOVIES POSSIBLE WITH MAYA OR SIMILAR SOFTWARES?. And i'll not be worrying about books, I am a memeber of British Library and there must be a book on maya or 3dsmax. I just need a simple answer yes/no!

well you can do 2D/3D movies...some little dedication is needed...
.

For 3D try Maya(best) or 3DsMax
For 2D try Flash(best) or swish
.
i had made 2 movies of each 3-minutes. one in Flash and another in maya

hi friend you can definitely make movies , character animatin in maya , 3dsmax , flash etc. to learn the softwares just download any software of you choice ,install and begin to read user references and tutorials of the software. after studying references and tutorials you can guess what you can make !

first you can learn about bluescreen and greenscreen! how it can be like that! what for they use it! than you practise about frame and scene! after you getting better than before so step up to more level...to be a proffesional
