I am leaving Mylot. I am not bored or frustrated or mad or anything like that. I am actually grateful to Mylot for being a good legitimate website who actually pays us for our contributions. Mylot is a great idea for a website and I wish them, and you all, the very best.
I am leaving Mylot because it is keeping me from pursuing my true ambitions, goals and dreams. I am spending hours on Mylot when I should be working on my much more profitable online campaigns. I also am not fully living and experiencing life offline as it should be experienced because of the time spent here.
I know there are very many posts like this, and I'm not calling for a Mylot ban, sympathy, or anything silly like that. I just realise I have a higher calling in life and it is not in harmony with sitting in front of a computer all day long.
Anyway, to my online friends and your brief friendships, thanks for the laughs and good discussions. I've learned a good thing or two. I'll happily forfeit my $5.74 for that.
Take care and God bless all. I wish you all a happy and healthy life.
Oh, and a little hint: To those who understand how this site works money-wise (pay per click, keyword density, keywords bid amounts, etc.), I suggest keeping it to yourself. Even perfectly ethical things that are not at all against Mylot or any advertising-company guidelines can get deleted.

So this is it? SIGH.
Your leaving is a tragic loss to the myLot community as you have been making very quality posts all this while.
I am glad for you however that you know what your goals are, how to work towards them, and are intending to do just that.
Good luck for your endeavors and you can always pop back in to relax when you are tired of the mundane goals of life.
PS.: If you know how one can make more money at myLot using legitimate means, you gotta leave me with this secret before you leave. :P

4 cents per post is A LOT. I myself only got 1-2 cents per post. There was a rumor circulating that newer users are paid better rates. Then as they post more, the earnings per post drop. I don't know how true.
Never met Ladyluna before.
Hey, think you can send me a copy of that keyword thingy? If you copied it from somewhere - if you have to type it out afresh, then don't. My email is just my handle here @gmail.com . Thanks! ^^
There are SO MANY things that myLot can improve on. I was even thinking of starting a blog to list the dozens of changes I already have in mind off the cuff lol.. but I figured that I would probably get banned for being nice so I just couldn't be bothered. :P
Hey hang around dude. Make that 10 bucks before you leave. I would really miss your post if you leave.

Thanks for the tool. ;-)
The thing is, how can it help someone make more money at myLot? But yes, I understand your example. :P

I think we all feel that way sometime, and some of us may actually join you. I think the solution is to limit the time you spend here. Otherwise it can take over your life. Best wishes to you whatever you do. Maybe we will see your byeline on some best selling book somewhere.

Thank you for your best wishes. I wish you the same.
I actually think I only spent about two hours per day here, but still I feel that is too much for my tastes, as even that trend is not a healthy one for me.
As for the book, hmmm... maybe. But I think there are already enough books authored by self-proclaimed know-it-all kids like me. Maybe when I'm older, wiser, richer, and more mature. Ha ha.
...I know. Maybe I'll get into acting. I think there may be a shortage of vanity in that industry. Ha ha.
Thanks again. Take care.
(I know I said that was my LAST post, but out of courtesy, I will reply to some of you who took the time to post)

Good morning Limitup,
Or rather, sad morning.
I cannot say how disappointing this news is to me. I have really enjoyed our discussions. You have a keen mind and insight, and great wit-- which will be sorely missed.
I completely understand your decision. But, do hope that rather than a complete severence, you will consider popping in now and again.
Like you, I don't have a whole lot of time to dedicate here. You'll notice that I didn't say time to waste, because I do think that there is benefit to some of the discussions here. And, I think it's really helpful to gain a different perspective from out international members.
Having said that, I do honor your decision. I will send you a private message with my personal e-mail if you want to stay in touch. If not, I'll honor that as well.
As I close this response, I will add that you have been appreciated and valued here. I wish for you only life's very best!!!
Toodles.

There she is! You people want to see what a quality poster looks like? Check out her profile. Here's what a discussion really looks like:
http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/782987.aspx
If you've come to mylot to learn and to share, find people like this.
Just in my brief time here, I have learned a lot about international members too. The biggest things I take from them is a better appreciate for my country, our financial blessings, our incredible economic structure, and our country's generosity.
I probably shouldn't use the word "waste". Good catch. There are no real wastes when we are aware and awake.
I of course wish you the very best in life. I've learned a lot from you.
Oh, and I emailed Ed and he posted a truly insightful reply about the lottery and blackjack topics we briefly went over.
While I should have worded the email better (using "struggle" instead of "struggled" because of the SVO-P he teaches), he made a great observation about confusing wishes with intention. I think he thinks I have a gambling problem! Ha ha.
Here's his reply, though I guess I should have posted this under your discussion (sorry for the bad mylot manners).
http://www.sekota.com/tribe/FAQ/2007_Mar/01/index.htm
It's under Wed, 14 Mar 2007 and is entitled: Intention= Results.
I love his responses. They are piercing and witty.
God bless and take care!

It'll help if I spell it right:
http://www.seykota.com/tribe/FAQ/2007_Mar/01/index.htm
But now I can clarify:
"...he makes a great observation about confusing wishes with intention IN THE NOW."
I forgot the most basic part. That we cannot intend to do something in the future, as there is no such thing as the future. There is only now. So of course we cannot intend to do something in the future. What we get now is what we are truly intending.
(For onlookers scratching their heads, Ed's the incredible guy interviewed in the book "Market Wizards". He is mentor to some of the greatest traders in the world. He knows the numbers, the science, and the most important part: the mind. He is truly a living legend.)

Thanks for your kind words. Yes, I could make a daily plan and budget my time, but my true intentions are to leave my time online for mostly making money and researching as opposed to socializing.
The money I make here is nowhere near as good as what I can make in my AdWords campaigns.
I'll miss the brief friendships here, but for now I'll save most of my friendships for the non-digital world.
Oh, and yes, they deleted some of my posts. I'm sure they had good reason and I am certainly not bitter. They are a business after all and I respect their decisions.

I understand your decision and i understand it is very logical, your reasons of leaving. You are not the only person who i have seen leaving mylot, but you are the first person who's leaving because of this particular reason actually.
But my life, on the other hand, is bounded by the internet. This is the place i usually spend most of my time at. I have my life outside of this internet world. And some good friends. But i admit i have started to care more about the things online rather than off-line. It is scary sometimes, isn't it?
Maybe i should go on a holiday. And, anyway, if you don't want your $5.74, you can give it to me...hehehe. :P

Lol. It's yours, though I suspect if I keep replying to all of you nice posters, maybe I'll get it to the $10 level after all...or maybe just $9.90. Ha ha.
Anyway I respect your decision to stay online for a good period of time. The internet is an incredibly powerful tool and is not to be underestimated. Though do continue to go outside once in a while or at the very least stick your head out the window for a breath of fresh air. Ha ha.
I wish you the very best as well. Take care.

I feel sad, when I read some one saying like this in mylot.
You actually should have completed the first payout criteria of 10$ before 31st march and have some fun out of this as any way you have spent so much time here you deserve that.
So please stal till 31st mar and better recieve the earnings.
Wish you all the best from oarnamav.

I think you feel that way cos you spent almost all of your time here, which is not supposed to be. You think that what you earn here will suffice your needs. Will i tell you now, it will not. This is just a forum, and in return of expressing your opinions you given a little cents for that. Me, im a fulltime working mom, and when i got the time like now, i visit this site, and post some of my opinions but it never came to my mind that i will depend on this.
So to your journey, Goodluck!

I agree 100%. Thanks a lot. I typed "all day long" in my post but it was really like 2 hours/day. Even still, though, you're right. I just realize that I am young and I need to spend less time giving my opinions and more time experiencing things to have opinions about.
Thanks a lot for your good wishes. I wish you the same.

Its very very disheartening when a member of our mylot family say 'bye'..but I agree with your purposeful departure as you should stick to and spend more time for fulfiling your goal or amibition. You cant compromise with your ambition if there is no major challenges arise in life. So al the best and do visit whenever you are free in your old mylot home.all the best

i understand how you feel, but if you just feel like joining discussion forums that pays you nothing, why wont you enjoy mylot that pays you a few cents. besides, remember that their payment currency is USD. in Nigeria for instance, $5.17 is equvalent to 1000 naira, with that i can feed myself for 5 day. anyway, i wish you the best of luck.

Good point. Though I no longer wish to participate in many more discussions, as it takes my time and energies off of learning and doing what I really want to do.
Excellent point about the currency. We as Americans tend to play off $5.00 because it buys very little here. Meanwhile it is worth much more in other parts of the world.
I downplay $5.00 because I live in America, but perhaps I shouldn't. Thank you for the reminder and I wish you the very best as well.

Well goodluck on the journey you taking. All i can say is that, right from the start, you shouldn't have let it takeover your life. I always make sure that all the things outside the internet are done first before i sit in front of the computer & i'm averaging 3-5 posts daily. Not bad eh? If sometime later I get paid then I'd be happy to take it. But the friends i've earnd & the knowledge I learn & shared is the real payout I will treasure.

I can completely agree with the fact that spending all day in front of the computer doing postings on myLot could take away from the time spent doing other things.
That is why in my daily plan I have a couple of hours set aside for myLot and then a couple of hours for other online adventures, sure my numbers may not be growing as fast as other people's however at least I know I just came in posted a few things and carried on with the rest of my day.
The way I look at is if all of these extra online things get me $50 by the end of the year then I've paid for a month's worth of internet when it's all said and done and all of that for just 1-2 hours per day of my life. Sounds worth it to me.

Sounds like a sensible plan. Since I am no longer trying to be online for social reasons; however, I add up those 1-2 hours per day and calculate what I could have done with that time. Even minimum wage earnings will pay the whole yearly internet bill.
But if you truly enjoy posting, learning and sharing, I agree 100%.
Best wishes to you. Take care.

By, it is also not good for your circulation.
And you are right about everything you said. I use to do that at another writing place. Although that one did pay. Still it is not good to sit for hours on end in front of a computer. Good Luck to you and you could still come back and write every once in a while like others do.

Yes, it was fun. A little addicting, but fun. I'll tell you what, if someone wants to come to my house and finish posting my $10 worth on my computer, I'll send them the money to their paypal account. Ha ha.
They may have to hop on a flight though. If they buy the plane ticket I'll give them a ride from the airport. I'm not an accountant, but I'm thinking the return on investment wouldn't be worth it. Ha ha.
Thanks for the welcome back, though. I've received nothing but good responses and that proves you all are very cool.
Best wishes in everything.

Good luck to you. I must say that you are strong. I need to be doing the same thing but I am addicted. My true passion is writing. Not too long ago I was able to turn my feelings into short stories or even chapters of my novels. I now find that I sit on mylot all night trying to get answers to my problems. Congrats! I hope I gain that type of strength at some point. But for now, I am here to stay.
