Mother does not approve

So what do you do when your mother continuously dissaproves of the choices or a particular choice that you have made in your life? In my case it has to do with my boyfriend. She continously bad mouths him and tells me that I should find someone better right in front of him. He is such a wonderful guy but my mother will just not see it. It is getting so bad that I know I will soon have to choose between him and my mother. What should I do?
