CD and DVD

DVD stores a much bigger amount of data than CD, but is there any different in term of the way they are produced, its mechanisms? we all learn how a CD could function in a CD, but does the same thing applies to DVD

the data stored inthe cd or dvd are seprated into tracks,each tracks contains some bit ,i.e... bits per track,the format of cd contaions more bits per tarck then DVD.so the DVD contains more data then CD.
