When your love one who is confined in a hospital and is suffering from serious illness and you know that he is going to die. The big problem is you want him to live but you don't have money to pay more for the hospital. He knew it is your problem and so He asked you to let him go by mercy killing, will you give in to his request?

i am a firm beiever in mercy killing. We put down suffering animals that can't be saved, right? Why not put down humans with the same problem? Keeping someone alive who is utterly miserable is just flat-out cruel. You won't do it to your dog...don't do it to your famil;y and friends. If there was a vore on whether to allow mercy killing or not, then i would definitely signfor it to pass. It should definitely be regulated...it should NOT be a free for all...but what's the harm in helping someone acheive peace at last after so much pain?

while it is true that the longer the patient stays in the hospital the more expenses will be incurred especially if the patient is hooked to machines or life support system. it is really difficult to accept that your loved one would die earlier than expected if the machines will stop functioning. remember, doctors took their oath to prolong lives, save lives. but if the members of the family agreed to let their patient go, theres' no reason why the patient has to stay longer.

What I know is that if there is still a possibility for the patient to get well, mercy killing is not justified. But if the patient lives only through machines and don't have any hope of getting well, mercy killing would be more acceptable and justifiable for the patient and the family.
