How to consider or start a good quality discussion?

I think the key to getting responses to your discussions is to get a greater exposure.The best way I know of is to build a massive friends list and answer to your friend's discussions .This will get your friends to read your discussions and if you respond with quality content ,then other members reading those will want to check out your profile and chances are they ,too, might respond to your discussions.
Also ,adding appropriate tags to your discussions will show it in the right interest so people interested in that topic have greater chances of posting to your discussions;-)

this must be the missing "link" that i have been looking for. build a massive friends list. why not, it doesnt cost us anything but just worth our time and effort. thank so much again vik for a wonderful thoughts.

One tip is to look at the list of all the mylot interests, and try to think of topics and discussions that the mylot people have posted as their interests... - DNatureofDTrain

There is no hard and fast rule in the land of suggestions which is Mylot. I am neutral and present things that is cause for discussion and make no judgements and I had a discussion pulled. It will depend on who you offend whether you intend to or not. Having said that, if you are patient and have the right mix of friends they will support your discussions. Also in my case schools and kids were my hottest. I also have discussions that are 2 months old that keep getting responses. So patience and tolerance are real virtues here.

I usally start one about things I enjoy in my life. Like about a book I have read or a movie I have seen or something that is going on in my life. Some of them i admit get no responses but some of them get quite a few. Good luck to you.

This perplexes me too. I do not often get very many replies, although I think my discussions are interesting. It seems that those who do get the most replies are questions that comment on human behaviors.
I have one discussion titled "Are we there yet" which is the funnest discussion(in my opinion) that I have ever made - and the most interesting to read the replies on....but relatively few have replied. I am having such fun with that thread that I would be happy to get numerous replies even if it did not pay...
btw, the baby is BEAUtiful!

yeah we are blessed to have such a beautiful angel. regarding you comment, I also have seen lots of good discussions but found not quite a number of replies. and i also have seen one that thats not really good at all but was able to gather atleast 20 responses. she's a pretty sexy lady though. i dont know if that helps lol.
