Ever since the anime sailormoon came out when i was a kid, I was instantly hooked up with it. I would go home right after school so i wouldn't miss any episode of it. Now, animes are very popular worldwide and have been sought for all ages. I have watched several of them and each episode I saw, I always get an exhilirating feeling. In case you don't know what I mean, anime As defined by webster dictionary, means a style of animation originating in Japan that is characterized by stark colorful graphics depicting vibrant characters in action-filled plots often with fantastic or futuristic themes.
One thing that I love about animes is that, the display of emotions are not limited. All areas are being covered and you easily get swayed every moment of it. You could easily forget the mundanity of life and get hooked into fantasy and become one of their characters played on it. I mostly forget about sleep because I couldn't wait to see the next episode, just like reading a really good novel and you're at the climax part and you couldn't stop reading to know how the story ends and the world behind you is instantly gone.
I was really glad that youtube website existed, because anime fans can share their favorite animes to the world. Here' my favorite list of animes:
1. sailormoon
2. ayashino ceres
3. naruto
4. fushigi yuugi
5. bleach
6. bible black
7. samurai x
Hope you watch them, I'm sure you'll get hooked to it just like I have. Is somebody out there that can recommend a good anime to watch? Please do!

I don't really think your definition of anime is all that correct- the grapics are not always 'stark and colorful' and the plots are not always action filled, depending on the genre.
here's a list of a few anime series that I think are particularly exellent;
fullmetal alchemist
mushishi
the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya
neon genesis evangelion
black cat
samurai champloo
if you haven't seen those, I definitely recommend checking them out.
