how do you deal with crank calls?

It's very common that we get crank calls and once the person knows that its gal on other side he starts irritating.In this situation gals dont like complaing to parents initially.so what do you suggest a gal shld do at the beginning to deal with the situation?

I would get pissed if I'm sleeping at the time.. I suggest you get a caller id and once you receive a crank call, tell the caller that you know his number and that you would report it to the police, just enough for the person on the other line to be scared..

hmmm probably i would call the person again and i would invite him to deal with me physically and then i will beat him up like crap :P

i have invested in a caller display unit. Now, if i do not know the number or the person with holds it, i just dont answer, this seems to have cured the problem
