how do you really evade temptation?

my guy friend has been married for almost 4 years now and i've known him for years. he's the type of husband that goes home early after office and really spent his free with his family. i can say that he's been a good husband and father until he met this girl. He said that he was really falling for this girl and he couldn't help it. he said his marriage is doing good and he has no complain whatsoever to his wife and yet he thinks he's falling into temptation..how do you avoid temptation? is it something that you can't control?
