I have to admit to being a huge Johnny Depp fan. The guy is such a capable actor, able to turn his hand to comedy and serious work with equal talent.

Yeah, I loved both of the Pirates movies, and he was also really good in Blow, although that movie was a little depressing, and Secret Window. I want to see Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. That movie sounds pretty strange and cool.

Robert De Niro and Al Pacino are very good actors. We have nearly all of their films on DVD.

They're definitely some of my favorites, too. They were both really good in Heat, and I like how they've also branced out from just doing mob movies and crime dramas (although I love those kinds of movies).

Well, they often play similar roles (either cops or gangsters), so I can see how you could easily mix them up.

Man, I forgot about Tom Hanks. Yeah, he's been in some great movies, and so has Will Smith. I've heard a lot about the Pursuit of Happyness.

My favorite actor is Stellan Skarsgård. He is now filming a big movie "Arn". It is happening in europe and Sweden under the middle ages. The story is based on the book of Jean Guillou, a swedisn bestseller writer and journalit. Stelln Skarsgård has been in many movies in usa, germany, sweeden etc.

I'll go with Russell Crowe. He's so enigmatic and changes radically for each of his roles.

Yeah, it's funny to think that the same guy who played this awesome warrior in Gladiator went and performed just as well in a completely different role like the professor in A Beautiful Mind.

My favorite actors are Matthew McConaughey and Tom Cruise. Not the Matthew in 'EdTV', but the actor who made me cry in 'A Time to Kill.'
And I love Tom Cruise as an actor, even though I don't agree with some of his philosophies. I can't forget his performances in 'Far and Away' and 'Born on the Fourth of July.'
A less controversial actor that I like and am waiting for him to get another meaty role, is Keanu Reeves.

Tom's another good one. I really like the Mission Impossible Movies, (although he's been great in plenty of other, more serious roles, like you mentioned). I agree about Keanu Reeves. I really like his performance in A Scanner Darkly. What a cool and unique movie.

I don't have a single favorite. I have many that I like to watch because of their ability to bring you where they are. I tend to appreciate actors that show range rather than allowing themselves to be typecast.

I agree. There are some actors who just end up taking the same basic roles all the time, and they kind of run together. This is especially true with action movies.

Mine would be Vin Diesel.. hehe Even though he doesn't have the much of a projects compared to any other award winning actors, I considered him to be a great one.. He looks handsome even if he's bald, and he has a great voice.. I really watched and appreciated all his movies because they were great..

I have so many favorites. I like Harrison Ford, Mel Gibson (yes, still!), George Clooney, Aidan Quinn. Also Johnny Depp. I think he is such a brilliant and versatile actor. My favorite movie of his is Benny and Joon. The physical comedy is amazing. I also like Phillip Seymor Hoffman, especially in Capote. I was thrilled when he won the Oscar last year. Also, Mark Ruffalo. I think he's underrated.

I still like Mel, too. I try not to get caught up in all that controversy junk, and despite whatever opinions people have of him recently, his old acting roles will always be great (I especially love the Lethal Weapon movies. I guess I just like the whole "buddy cops" genre).

Okay i looked through all the posts and limited my number down to 2 actors. Other may like it but here goes:
Will Smith & Jet Li.
Even though I could never see the two in a movie together, Will Smith has been absolutely wonderful since "Ali", and I've always been a Jet Li fan, but his acting REALLY surprised me in "Unleashed"

I also like Sean Connery. He was a pretty good Bond, and he's been in some very good movies since then.
