On the contrary, it is money that is wasting. Consider that the US dollar now buys only about half the groceries that it bought in 1980. The 1913 dollar is worth about a nickel today(1913 is about the time we went off "the gold standard). They call it "inflation". It operates as a "confiscatory tax" which robs us of our savings. Read "The Creature from Jekyll Island" by G. Edward Griffin, to learn what you and I can do to change this. Paper money(fiat money), intrinsically worthless pieces paper, is the tool of the rich and powerful, in league with politicians, to steal our savings by inflation. By simply running the printing presses. And this is not just a US phenomenon, there is now a currency crisis with companies from all over the world racing to "devalue" their currencies to gain an advantage in world markets. On the other hand, Gold, Silver, and platinum and palladium(precious metals) are all increasing in price. They represent a "store of value". But especially Gold, which has been the "real money" throughtout recorded history. Learn about it. Fail to do so at your peril. Everyone should own and hold at least a little gold and/or silver(sometimes called the poor man's gold), just in case the bottom suddenly drops out of the US and/or the world economy as in the Great Depression. of the '30s. There are many who say we are perilously close to that happening again.

I totally agree with you that "All that glitters is not GOLD". But over here the case is different as far as my understanding is concerned. As this is the photograph taken at the wedding of Fast Indian Bowler and in India wearing a lot of jewellry is totally ok (if it satisfies somebody)...
