Are we really so desperate for money....

that we'll read emails for pay? There are much better ways to make money online. I keep reading all these posts about reading emails and I'll just let you know, these companies aren't all legitimate. The ones that are try to trick you out of your pay.
A couple years ago I did make $44 from Send Earnings, but fortunately I'd read the fine print which stated that if you requested your check and didn't continue clicking the paid emails before the check was printed (took a month to print) you would lose your earnings. How many people do you suppose realize that? I'm sure many people claim their checks, then step away and wait to see if they actually get paid! How horrible to have invested so much time into something so incredibly boring and dry for no return at all! When I read this I was angry, even upon recieving my check I was angry because I had to realize thousands were probably being cheated. I guess you always have to read the fine print!

I do mypoints, where you can get bonus emails to get more points, otherwise the only way to get points is to buy stuff. I think it's okay, although I have yet to have acquired enough points to get a gift card. I've heard of other people getting gift cards though.

While I think many people are at myLot in order to just earn money, I see the earning money part of this site as just a way to increase the size of the community. Sure, I like earning money, but I also realize that myLot does not replace a job and that there should be a certain degree of fun included. I just started myLot yesterday, and I am already enjoying the amount of conversation and debate that exists here. I have often thought it would be neat to either start a site devoted to debate and conversation, and here it is! I am usually not very outgoing, but the incentive myLot creates with paying for conversation helps me to speak up a bit more.

I also get a kick out of being here. It's fun to visit and there's just about every topic imaginable here. If you can't find it, you can start a new conversation! I like earning the extra money too, but I'd probably come here even without it.

I must admit... I AM desperate for money! On the other hand, before I found MyLot, I often hung out at Yahoo Answers, which is very similar to MyLot except they don't pay you any money. You get points, and if you get enough points you get a fake ribbon or something... I've heard it is possible to win prizes there, but I'm not sure. So, to me, MyLot is preferable, because I'm still sort of enjoying myself, keeping from being bored, AND earning a few bucks!

I think the best ways to make money online would be from sites that really don't interrupt your daily routine, such as SlashMySearch (http://www.slashmysearch.com/earn/id/21175), or include a certain degree of fun, such as myLot. All that is required to make money off of SlashMySearch is to use their search engine and be active in their forums (and make their site your homepage, if you wish). Likewise, one reason I am even posting on myLot is that I enjoy finding out what other people think of and to gain the social interaction I like because of home schooling. Also, if the activity you are doing is fun or else very easy, it is a whole lot easier to swallow if it turns out to be a scam, because you have lost relatively nothing.

hi guys! im new here in mylot.
hmmm... not really desperate... maybe some people just join these kinds of online jobs just to have extra income.. like for example, money for spending on hobbies, or other stuff. by the way that's the reason i joined mylot. hehe. well its helpful for those people who dont have real jobs or are just not yet employed. i think people just have to grab every opportunity that comes along the way to have a stepping stone(for the newbies like me) and be successful in life.. that's what i think..^^,

Yes I think we are getting that way.If employers paid thier empoyees better wages maybe we would'nr so desperate to do this. I tink in today's world everyone is just to make ends meet but it's getting harder day by day..
Also these paid email companies only you 203 cents per email you read,maybe if they paid $1-2 or more people would do it?

Thank you for the link. I have checked out your blog and you have given us so much good information. I do the email thing and have never had any problems I guess I am lucky there. I did try the assemble at home and it was a total waste of time. It as horrible. I have finally learned my lesson. I don't spend any money on anything any more. While I don't think everybody is so desperate for money, I feel that subconsciously, we all live for money, simply because of the fact that our everyday lives involve the spending and receiving of money so, it is a very big part of us and it plays a very big pary as well... in conclusion, we could also say we are desperate for money, but is there really any need for us not to be?

there are people who require this kind of money to make their living and we should be thankful to God that we are not entirely depending on these kind of income for a living. it is sad that you lost your $44. hope you are able to make more more out here and get your efforts worth.

I guess we shouldn't really term it as "desperate".We just want to earn extras, and it's a good thing if it's this easy.

i think we are really interested for money for some time. but when we reach at a stable stage means when we are reached at a good amount for secure our future at that time we do not need money but satisfaction. money can not be always satisfaction but satisfaction comes from money. but if we really want to be happy we need satisfaction. so money can not be always needed. and money is a need. so sometrimes we hav to desparate about money.
