I guess it depends on service really. I look for things like wait time for the staff to take my oder, how friendly is the waitstaff, do they look like they WANT to help me? or do they look like im bugging them? Do they check on me often enough to know what i need but not so much that im being plauged every 5 minutes ? I understand too that places get busy anf the staff often has lots to do so as long as they are making effort i understand. I also understand how long food thakes to cook is not the fault of the waitstaff so i dont even look at that.

It depends on the quality of service they give me. If they serve me and fill my glass with water or my coffee when it runs out I really like this I will tip them well. If they give me lousy service and act like they are mad about having to be there I leave nothing. I feel its not my fault they are mad becuase they had to work or whatever. I expect good sevice no matter the tips cuz some places will not let you leave tips, but if they gave me good service I still leave the money under the plates.

I almost always tip but the amount depends on the service.I try to consider how busy a place is and all other factors, actually imagining myself in their place, and go from there.I know that most waiters and waitresses depend on the tips to make a living and the job is not easy.

Yes, I do give tips, but not everytime.
No, there's no percentage, most of the time I just leave out the change when we dine in.
Yes, sometimes, I get this feeling of being obligated to give tips, especially when I'm in the salon, and it seems that it is the trend nowadays.
