I understand everyones concern about the baby, but they obviously haven't have the drip that they use in hospital to help induce the labour. I spent 5 days in hospital being giving stuff to help you start labour. As in both cases this did not work I had to have my waters broken and put on a drip which speeds up labour. With my first baby this was so painful that i ripped out the drip. i have also had a normal birth so know what labour is like. I was advised by my midwife to try all the 'old wives tales' in order to help induce labour.

i completely agree i to was advised by my midwife to try allsorts as i went 7 days over. trying old wives tales is not going to put your baby in danger at all. i dont see how drinking a type of tea that softens your cervix a little is going to make much difference it will just make it easier when the baby decides to come as it wont have that much work to do..

I will just say to you, as much as all very pregnant women want to bring upon labor fast, I suggest you take this time and get some rest, as it might be the last time you get to have a good rest for a while. Sleep, rest, and prepare yourself for labor.

I wouldn't suggest bringing on hard labour on your own . They can do it in the hopital but they can also make sure that you baby is not going into distress . You are taking too much of a risk doing it on your own .
I know when you get to the end you just want it to be over with but the best thing really to do is wait as you wouldn't be able to live with yourself if something happened to your baby because you were trying to rush them into the world . Your baby will come when he or she is ready and not before hand and if you try to rush it when the baby is not ready it will make for a much harder labour and a lot more pain .
Best of luck !!

Wish I knew how to bring on labour.I have twice had to be induced having been 3 weeks overdue. I have tried everything, making love, curry, rasperberry tea, lots of pineapple. Would be interesting to know if any of these worked for anyone else.
