Do you approve them, ignore?
do you just click it approve or look at their profiles first..?
i am asking this because when i was then a newbie past 4 months i think, when i saw this high scored person and tried to ask for friendship...
that member rejected, and ever since...
i never asked for friendships again..
but if other members do so ask me, i would gladly approve them.. even if i haven't known a bit of who's that person..
because i know what the feeling of first timer and so innocent being ignored.

I don't understand why anyone would reject anyone who asked to be a friend. I have always approved anyone that asked and I don't see how that could do any harm, even if they wrote things in their comments that I didn't agree with. No one else is going to say, "Oh, no, Stringbean has that person for a friend so Stringbean must be a bad person." They would judge me for my own comments.
You shouldn't let that one person stop you from asking to be a friend. Even if ten people rejected you, most people would accept so keep on asking.

i was just surprised how that person rejected because of the fact he's gaining one of the top referrers that time, so me, a newbie, just few post was just a small sheep to see.

I always accept anyone who wants to be my friend. We should not judge a person just because he is a newbie. As a matter of fact newbies needs to be accepted by the old members here so that they will be convinced to stay here longer. If they can't make friends here or rejected my other old members there will be no more newbies who will stay active here. I'm also a newbie here coz I just started this month but I'm glad I have met some friends here who are very nice and friendly.

I'm still a newbie here and I really value and appreciate when old members accept my invitation. And especially when they like my comment, or even replied to my comment or discussion. It makes me feel accepted and especially their support is great. So I don't reject anyone who invites me, especially newbies like me. Even in real life you don't always agree with your friends. But it doesn't matter as long as they accept you for who you are.

How can you decide if they are good friends or not. After I accept someone as a friend, I usually don't hear anything from them ever again, or maybe once in a while, I will see their name somewhere on a post. I don't start many discussions myself. Maybe that is why.

I never reject a friend request, and I think it is not polite to reject others. since they decide to ask for friendship, they must have checked your profie, and would like to make friends with you. so why reject them? Especially for the newbies, they may need some help from us, I would like to help the newbies if they ask some questions.
Fortunately, when I was a newbie, I met many warm-hearted old members. they always gave me a hand when I came across some problems.
Now I also have a high score, and I will do just the same as my old friends. never think about rejecting the request from newbies .

First of all let me tell you that you were my first friend whom I had requested when i joined mylot and you were really warm you not only agreed to my friend request but also you send me a welcome message, it was really great, I never reject anyone who requests me for friendship, I do check their profiles but I have not rejected anyone till now, when I was new on mylot I was kept pending by some of the members when i requested to them and I only later deleted my request,
so I am very concerned of new mylotters if they ask me for a freinds request I never let them down.

thats a very touching response nancy...
i really welcome new members a lot...
because when i was new here, no one welcomed me,
so i get to business... and then
when i see new members, i welcome them...even if they are 0 rating, i still approve the request i dont really choose people...^_^
take care nancy..

With all the users here trying their best to make friends, I try my best and take time in looking at their profiles.
I do have the same experience as you did have, but I want to make sure that my friends are 'legit' and that they don't try to use me or abuse me, by sendig me some referrals to other sites to which I know are scams.
I prefer to look at their profiles because I want to know if we both have some interest that are in common, because it is an advantage for the both of us as we try to exchange and share our views and opinions at each other..
