Offers for a free plasma TV

Has anyone ever gone through with one of these offers that you find online all the time that claim you'll get a free plasma TV or an Xbox or something like that? I've been tempted many times, because although you may have to spend a couple hundred bucks to sign up for a few of their offers, a TV would be worth way more than that. I'm sure it's just a scam, but I was just curious if anyone has been successful with it.

Hi,
I am not seeing the offers you mentioned in your posting.
However if the offer is anything like take a survey and sign up with few vendors like blockbusters, netflix etc.
Then these are surveys commission by the vendors to gather market stats for marketing campaigns.
If you read the fine print it will say that you will be entered in a draw to win the tv or whatever they are giving away.
The changes are as good as winning the national lottery.
But if you get selected they will honor the prize.
