Man Arrested in Girl's Pet Dog Beheading

ST. PAUL, Minn. (March 23) - A 24-year-old man has been arrested, suspected of cutting the head off of a 17-year-old girl's pet dog and leaving it at her front door in a gift-wrapped box.
Crystal was devastated last month when Chevy, her 4-year-old Australian shepherd mix, went missing. Two weeks after the dog disappeared, a gift box addressed to Crystal was found at the front door of a house she shares with her grandmother. Crystal found Valentine's Day candy and a garbage bag containing her pet's head.

The man, who is expected to be arraigned Friday, was being held on suspicion of terrorist threats. Police said he may be charged with animal cruelty.
I hope he gets life and they darn well better charge him with animal cruelty and wors. What do you think about people like this. I think he has serious issues and should be off the streets.

I seriously think they should cut his head off. This man is evil, and sick. Who in their right minds could ever harm an animal like that? What a psycho! I say "Off with his head"

Well it sounds good in theory but I think that's too easy a way out for him....I think he should sit in a prison and rot while cleaning dog kennels for more punishment..with a toothbrush...hehe

Oh man, it made me feel sick when I read this. I hope they thow the book at him and lock him away for a very long time and also ban him from ever having any pets of his own when he grows up. He's obviously got a serious mental problem and I agree he should be off the streets. What on earth could make someone do something like this? I just can't comprehend the senslessness of it.

Okay, this man is very, very sick. I hope he is charged with animal cruelty and many other charges. Enough charges to keep him in the pokey for a good long time. While in the pokey, he shoule be made to work like a dog (pun intended) rather than sit on his keester doing nothing. I really think that he should be made to go to the local animal shelter and clean the pens (when the dogs are outside in runs, as he does not need to be near them).

He MAY?? be charged with cruelty to animals?? What qualifies as cruelty if beheading doesn't?? I definately think that he should be off the streets. You have to be a very sick person to behead a dog and then send it to someone?? What could a person possibly be thinking in their mind to go through with something like this?? It really scares me to think that people like this are walking the streets and no one knows what they could do next.

Thank you for noticing that...I can't believe that he "may" be charged with animal cruelty...well hell's bells he darn well better be charged with it.. I hope he isn't allowed back on the streets...obviously he is a danger.

OMG! That is terrible. I hope they throw the book at him. It is said that serial killers start out by torturing and being cruel to animals. They may have stopped him from doing something worse, at least I hope! Of course, with our justice system, he may not get alot of time, in cases like this, we are looking at a danger to society, guys like him are not able to be rehabilitated and should be locked up and the key thrown away.....far away. I hope they get him for worse and pile on as many charges as they can to ensure this man stays put away for a very long time. That is terrifying and heart breaking for the girl. What a sick sick man. My heart breaks for that poor girl and the loss of her pet.

Oh my! I hope he is locked up in a mental institution for life and never allowed again into society. He certainly has some disturbing problems. And to say the least that poor girl is gonna have some emotional scars for the reminder of her life. That is certainly not something I would be wanting to live with.

Oh my gosh.....this guy has got to be sick.I mean who in their right mind would do such a thing?You are absolutely right....this guy has some major issues and needs to be locked away for good.
I would be afraid for my life with someone like that walking around where I live.That was a very shocking news story.

I know, it's a scary world out there. You never know who is the next psyco killer... It's terrible these days most people don't even know their neighbors anymore. The most dangerous people usually look like everone else. I sure do hope he's not set free because I certainly consider him as dangerous that's for sure.

This man has serious issues! I'm shocked and outraged by this!
I could never harm any animal and for this man to have no issues with beheading a dog is beyond belief.
He needs a hefty prison sentence and a hefty fine too. I know for a fact that he'll be banned from owning any animals for life and thats definitely a good thing. Who'll ever trust him with animals again?

This is really shocking. how could someone do such thing. that man should have been nuts and i think he has to be put into jail for this crime. it sets a bad example if he is let off. I hope to see the man behind the bars. No matter if it is a dog or any other animal, killing should be dealt with sevearly.

He sounds pretty sickk. Maybe he liked her and she wouldn't give him the time of day so he took her dog and killed it. A shame really. He needs to be up in a psyc ward of you ask me and I hope they give it to him good when he gets in front of a jury for what he done.

I am so happy they got the man. I cannot imagine what the girl must feel like. I cannot believe someone would do that and send it to some poor innocent girl that hasn't done anything to anyone. The fact that she put so much time and effort into trying to find her dog is heartbreaking knowing that she never got the chance to be with her dog anymore. It's sad.

Isn't that just the sickest thing to do to a poor animal. I'm sure she was quite traumatized by the whole thing...it's so sad, but I am so glad they caught him.

I saw this on CNN. What sick-o! And supposedly he thought of himself as her boyfriend. Gee andy body looking for a boyfriend? This guy is available. And if you make him mad he'll take it out on a defenseless animal! Makes me want to stuff HIM in a box and set him on a doorstep.

That is really quite sad. If he had a fight with this girl, that is one thing, but to actually kill her pet- which in my book is the same as a family member- is very, very low.
I feel badly for the girl and her family. This would be very sad to have to deal with.
