Why pray?

Why pray? Why do I talk with my husband, with my children, with my friends and family? I talk to people I know and love because we are able to share our thoughts and feelings. We can be happy together and mourn together and be encouraged. Why pray? Same reason. I talk to my loving heavenly Father, through the Lord Jesus Christ, just as I talk to other people I love - even more so! I spend quality time with Him very early every morning, and enjoy His abiding presence throughout the day, talking with Him about everything I do. In fact, I could not do (wouldn't even attempt) the work I do without consulting Him and depending His ability and undertaking. Prayer is not an escape hatch. Prayer is not a last resort. Prayer is not a way to get things. Prayer is not "give me". Prayer is communication. Prayer is two-way. Prayer is a great privilege.

You are so right He loves to talk t ous and though prayer is a great way. All we have to do is talk to him just like we are talking to a friend and he knows our heart and our life and what we are going though

I agree with you Lonnie, I pray everyday as well. God is good, I may not have much in my life but I am thankful for all he has given me, he has blessed me in many ways.

Thank you for posting this. I know that O do not pray as often as I should or as well as I should. I think that prayer is a very important part of our life. We need to remember that Christ spent a lot of His time in prayer when He was not teaching the people. He was always trying to find out God's way for His life. If Christ was doing this, then I feel that we should be praying more as well to find out what his Will is for our lives.

I agree with that and try my best to remember God each day and talk to him; Especially when I don't see the road being clear and all;

prayer is our way to communicate with GOd our father.

I love the lord and I couldn't live my life daily without him in it. He is what keeps me around on this earth. I talk to the lord every day whether I am praying for myself or for others. I also give him thanks every day for what he is blessing me with and what he is blessing me in the present with and everything he has blessed me with in the past. I have to have the lord in my life or I wouldn't survive today.

I pray as a converstation to God. I reley what is going on in my life and how thankful I am to Him for all that happends. Good will come from the bad, I am sure of it
