Anyone with sleeping problems

When I try to go to sleep, I lay awake for hours, even when I am really tired. This will sound weird, but when I can't sleep, my mind keeps me busy so I don't get bored just laying there. My mind essentially keeps me company, but it doesn't keep me awake. So what can I do to help me sleep, aside from meds. Doc tried meds and they worked for a little while, until they started keeping me awake. I have tried long hot baths, warm milk, reading, not reading, avoiding coffee in the afternoon. anyone that can help, I would appreciate it.

I am sorry to hear this because it seems that i can see you heat.I had had this problem for about 4 years and it had a bad effect on my life. With it,I cannot study well, cannot sleep well and even cannot have a good talk with others since I am always tired and bored. All the years,I gave others a bad impression. It sure that I get rid of it and have a happy life. I want to ask you a question,do you have a strong pressure? Please ask your inner heart and find the answer.what is the pressure? a person,a job,or something else? Then what you have to do is opening you heart to one person you trust and telling him your problem. You will find you become relaxed by doing so.And then ,find more such person to help you.In quite a long time, you will find you have resolved the matter. It is only my experience.I hope it could help you!

I thought about the pressures and stresses in my life, and they the usual stresses, kids, not having enough time for myself, or the housework, etc. And with my fiance, we talk alot about everything that is bothering each of us. Mainly right now, trying to buy a house. But we discuss what is stressing us. I just am not sleeping. On average, I think I went down on the hours I sleep. I think right now I am down to about 3 hours a day. I don't have the opportunity to nap with four youngsters, and I keep busy with housework, caring for the kids and such. And my fiance does give me a break when his work schedule allows it. I just can't sleep

Looking at your comment,I am thinking about my mother. My mother has a bad sleep, too. But she had a good night and a happy day everyday before she had me,her lovely son.Suddently,I recognize that my mother is old, realy old.She is busy with the family and also has to make money.I remember my mother's white hair.So I feel sorry to her. 3 hours a day is too little.I can feel that how tired you are. Have you talked to your fiance about your problem? How old is your oldest child?I think you could have a chat with them by a family meeting.Get the things boring you from your heart and relax yourself.Put your heart back to the bottom line every weekend and the monday is another week.Have a try,I believe you can resolve it.

I have the same problem, but not very often. It usually is a product of my body being really tired but my mind still being alert and active. I would suggest something in the terms of constantly using your mind. When you are trying to go to sleep, give your brain a workout. Think of some crazy scenarios in life, use your imagination, something that is going to make your mind tired. That can usually wear you down, even if only for a little bit. That will usually be enough of a window for me to fall asleep. Also try a quick aerobic workout. Jog in place for about 5 minutes, do something to use up some of that excess energy keeping you awake. Hope those help, even a little...

you know, tonight I went to bed exhausted, then woke up 1 1/ hours later, now up for over 3 hours and absolutely wide awake again, and I tried your technique.
