How does the whole posting thing work on myLot? I've noticed that sometimes when I reply to postings that I've started it won't add a new posting to my record count then I've also noticed sometimes when I start new postings it doesn't add anything either. Can someone explain how it calculates our posting counts? Does it depend on how many words are in the posting? Does it care how many times you replied to the same discussion? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If you comment or reply on your own discussion then it wont be taken into consideration for counting.even when you reply to other's discussion only once it will be counted.if you make another comment or reply to the same discussion then it wont be counted.Sometimes the counting may decrease due to deletion of your post.Ifyou have responded to a discussion which is against the mylot rules then mylot will delete the discussions and posts and hence the count may decrease.

Thank you very much for you insight. Every little bit of information helps. In fact I didn't know if a discussion got deleted that my posting count would be deleted for that posting as well. Thanks.

Welcome to myLot. Hope you spend many happy hours here. You receive one point for one response and one point for one comment on any discussion. The quality of the response does affect the earning. A response of a few words, or one that does not reply to the discussion will not earn. You do not receive points (or pay) for comments to responses on your own discussions, but it is courtesy to read and rate every response and to comment on at least some. You will find that if you do not comment on at least some responses, many will not respond to your discussions. When you achieve 100 points you will receive a star with a number in it. This shows your myLot reputation rating. Among other things (no one knows the exact formula) your rating is affected by the number of "+" ratings and "best response" ratings you receive.

Thank you very much for the information. I have noticed that I don't always get points for everything that I do and that's why I asked. You have been very helpful.
