Do you think it is important to wear fashionable clothes?

i've always felt that wearing fashionable clothes are not so important. i believe that clothes should compliment one's body and and appearance or enhance it. if out of fashion clothes suit one best, depending upon one's body strature or size and if clothes that are in are making one look like a fool then one must avoid such clothes. atleast i do that. i heard many designers say this too!
