I like to think that by my smiling face and uplifting attitude that I make other people's days a bit brighter. I think that by smiling at someone you may give the only smile they may get all day. I try to lighten peoples moods when they are down or listen when they need to talk. I hope I make a day better for others. What are your thoughts on this?

I agree with you. I teach at a secondary boarding school. I live with the students and we get close to each other. I like to think that I am more that just a teacher to them and based on all the wedding invitations and baby announcements my wife and I receive I think that some of the students like us. LOL I have had discussions in my office with students about every topic under the sun. And I mean everything. I always send up a little prayer to God when a student plops down in a chair in my office and says, 'Mr Berlin, I don't understand why. . . . And I am glad for my job and that I have been able to make their day or helped them out with a problem or made them smile. I tell my students about a game I like to play when I am out in public, especially at a shopping mall. I smile at everyone that I pass and you know, most of them smile back even if they are usure if they should smile or not. I get a kick out of making people smile and as you can see in my picture on mylot I like to smile! :)

Thank you for you insightful response. It takes less muscles to smile than to frown too so we are working less smiling! :)

An unknown poet (me) once wrote "...I am the smile that touches ten, that touches ten times ten, and spreads until all the world smiles with me..."
You are so right, that smiles make everyone's days seem brighter.
