Are you a pack rat?

i still am... although everytime i look for a certain item i know i kept i just cant find it... im a very unorganized pack rat. im having a hard time letting go of things i have memories with. maybe in time i could let go...

I have been known as a pack rat since i was a child. i do not see it as anything wrong. I keep reciept for everything. The purpose is to see how much im spending on what. If i spend too much on something then i can change that habit. I save them for a year then throw out the previous year. I only keep clothes that fit and i use. Same with shoes. I sell stuff i dont need or use on ebay or amazon. I have an extra room that i keep all that stuff in.

i am and although I try to de clutter my life I keep up the old habits. It is just a part of who I am. A thing that I can not help. Like a limp, or eye color, if you do not like what I have or keep, then move on. I try not to let it get to bad, but right now I am going to have to have a yard sale this spring and dispose of some things. I will also use freecycle. I have a group quite near me and I love the idea of others benefiting from my junk!

I'm totally not a pack rat but my husband sure is! He keeps EVERYTHING. The other day I threw out some old magazines and newspapers and he about had a fit! LOL. The man has clothes that he wore 10 years ago and are two sizes too small! We both know he's NEVER going to fit into a medium again, so I finally gave them to the Goodwill. You'd think I took away his birthday! No, I'm just kidding about that but he is totally a pack rat. I figure if I don't use it within a year, I don't need it and pitch it or give it to Goodwill. :-)

yeah i think there are some items that i've been keeping, which i don't really need. i sometimes forget their existence and haven't use them for a looong time, things like that. don't know why i like to keep those things. don't have the heart to throw or give it away and yeah, who knows, someday i might want to use it or something. lol. i can never get rid of stuff this way! even when i try to declutter and able to throw away some stuff, there seem to be still a lot more of it..sigh.

I used to be as well. I learned quickly that it wasn't going to pay off, though, because I've been moving around a lot the last year or so. I keep some old stuff, mostly old school stuff and papers like that, but nothing else anymore. If anything, I tend to throw too much away now to save time packing when moving. I do want to save some more things in the future, though.
