My daughter has had a habit of shouting 'mint sauce' whenever she sees sheep no matter where we are and has done since someone (yes ok it was me!) made a passing remark when she was only 2! I don't mean to offend anyone here but honestly if you could see peoples faces burst into smiles when sitting on a crowded bus you hear this cute little girl yelling 'mint sauce' at the top of her lungs and then turning round and asking 'mummy why can't the sheep hear me - I know they can't cos theyr'e not running away'! lol Had to stop her when she started shouting 'steak pie' at the cows .... well I really like steak pie and I didn't want her to put me off!

Mint sauce is usually served with lamb - thats why she shouts it - she wants to frighten the sheep! She also shows my friends fish their food tub, shakes it about above the tank til they start looking for the food and then bursts out laughing! She is my angel child lol x

Bet you have a hard time stopping her 'bleating' out those words! Glad you didn't see that programme about how they get animals to the slaughterhouse, ewwwww, I banned my housemate watching them because he's the cook and I refuse to go vegetarian! Does she say peeerrrrr perrrr perrrr porrkiiiieee pigggg (sorry my Walt Disney Porky Pig gag was awful, well it is 1am!) oink oink!

Honestly, I don't know what mint sauce and steak pie are. Explain. I do however think it is cute when little ones yell out things in public places that are a little off the wall. My daughter doesn't yell out words but she does have a VERY high pitch scream, and she loves to scream. In restaurants it scares people so much. I don't know how to stop her. It's like a game for her.

Mint sauce is traditionally served with roast lamb! Steak pie is well steak cooked in gray and topped with pastry! She thinks the sheep should be scared by mint sauce! Been there with the screaming thing - no dessert if they do it works after a few visits - especially if you eat an ice cream in front of them! lol

Lamb meat...oh, the drool! I love Gyros and there's a restraunt about 20 miles from me that would be worth the long drive to get. They have seasoned lamb meat and it is very good. Plus, lamb meat is in the bible so it has to be good. Other than that, I can only dream of what lamb chops must taste like.
My children learned from me that the Power Rangers are E-V-I-L and they have no qualms of screaming that, no matter where they are. They will also shout out "UNCLEAN SWINE" when we're passing down the meat aisle in the super markets. Gotta love Kosherly raised children.
But the funniest story was when a friend of mine was taking his young son to the store with him and he saw a woman who was very blessed...and the young boy said as loud as he could (maybe is father was deaf from so many "dad...dad...dad...dad...dad"), "Wow daddy! That lady can feed our family for months!" Thank G-d that wasn't my child...

When my daughter was very young she would see cows in the fields and I would say oh look at the butterfly's, and she would say no mommy those are cows and I would say no they are big black and white butterfly's. Soon she was calling them butterflys and even now we still laugh when we are going buy a Field and she says to her daughter look at all the black and white butterfly's. Sort of a family traditionThe same as when we have turkey for a holiday, I always cald it a crow, my grandaughter laugh every time about eating crow

That is so funny! Kids say the darndest things that is for sure. My daughter has both embarrassed me and made me laugh til my sides hurt with some of the things she said. One time we were walking down the feminine products aisle and there was a stock person there, putting product on the shelf. My daughter yells, mommy isn't those your diapers that you wear? I was so red from embarrassment, the stock person just smiled and pretended he didn't hear and kept on stocking. I was thankful for that, we just kept moving down the aisle and she kept saying well isn't it mommy? I said yes hon and she finally got quiet. Thank goodness I don't know how long I would have been able to keep my head up! LOL

Oh this is a real funny one Mummymo, I have never thought of it in this way but I can understand what you mean, and it is great that other people get a laugh out of it and as long as your daughter is not putting people off eating these things but to me it is very funny and I like it!!

I did something similar to my niece and nephew when they were about 2 years old. I told them that white milk = white cows, chocolate milk = brown cows, strawberry milk = red cows and banana milk = yellow cows. They believed this until they went to work on an inter-city farm and went to milk the brown cow and white milk came out! LOL They were 12 and 14 at the time too! LOL

Kids are so funny and they always seem to pick up on the strangest things we do and say. I wouldnt worry about it too much my oldest daughter was put off from meat at about the age of 4-5 when she started asking all the why's and where does this come from. unfortunately I told her the truth and that about ended it for her eating meat...lol. After seeing a movie on how they make sausage and hotdogs I myself had a hard time eatting them. A bad visual can pretty much kill any appetite.
