I've always made it a point to help pay bills. Even if I lived on my own for a while, I still sent money back home and helped with the finances. Now that I'm back home temporarily to manage a new venture, I contribute more. The fact that I have a role to play and that I'm doing it religiously make me feel responsible and complete as a person. I like fulfilling responsibilities/duties.

well my boyfriend pays the bills from where we live and everything is under his name. The only sharing in decision making is when buying groceries and what we need for the apartment.

My hubby always makes me deal with paying the bills. He gets too grouchy when he tries to deal with them. So I have resigned myself to being his "financial advisor" as he likes to put it. LOL

Mostly its my dad who take care of the due dates for paying all the bills from electricity, telephone cable tv etc., If my dad is away with some work either myself or my brother will take the job to pay.

Jeremy makes the money and I figure the bills up and pay them. So it is kind of like a 50/50 thing!

I actually live with my housemate/friend and we split the bills two ways, he does pay extra because he has a bigger room and he does pay the electricity and gas bill because I am currently not working which is good of him but I hate relying on it and hopefully can pay him back as soon as I get working again.

All our money goes into one account and I actually handle writing and paying the bills. He makes more money but it's all the same to us. I love paying the bills cause I love being in control. He likes to relax when he gets home so it's no big thing to him :)

we split the responsability. We are a team in everything we do and it is no different when it comes to paying our bills.

My husband is the only one working right now and so he pays the bills. I write the checks and he signs them as we've not yet gone through all of his yet and so he has to sign the checks. In any case, he also balances the checkbook, and usually he takes the letter down to the mailbox or puts it in the box at the post office on his way to work. When we were both working, and even now, the money that is made is "our money" and so there's no splitting of responsibilities when it comes to actually paying the bills.

I pay the bills. My hubby does not like that task. He helps with other stuff around the house.

I am now living alone in another country and its my company that is paying my bills besides my mobile phone bill. But back home, it's always my wife who does it coz she's the one keeping the budget.

I find it interesting that the man seems to pay. I wish there had been more responses from people who share the responsibility. In my last relationship, I paid all the bills and the housemate was supposed to pay for all the day to day things. But he rarely fullfilled his part of the bargain which put me into debt trying to pick up the shortfall. Not only was he selfish and lazy but he lied about his earnings and work hours and spent money in pubs during the day, drinking and gambling. He could not understand why I left him.

I make out the checks for all of them or make the payments on all of them, but we split the money for them up some. He pays the mortage payment and the truck payment while I pay the utilities and buy groceries so it works out well for us. I personally want to be able to stay home and make enough to pay everything but it hasn't happened yet.
