This movie is one of my all-time favorites, not just because it was a love story based on cinderella but because there were a lot of lessons to learn from it.

Fairytales teach children and adults lessons in life. In fact these are among the earlier tools we use in teaching children values education. "Ever After" is beautiful because Cinderella is presented as having a pure heart. As a child she welcomed her stepmother and stepsisters with no prejudice. She also hoped for a long time that her stepmother would love her. As a young lady she opened the eyes of the prince to the opportunity for stewardship of his people. The classic story of Cinderella depicted the evils of the world (including the man with money and power) which Cinderella had to face. The inclusion of the character of Leonardo da Vinci, a truly intelligent man, added to the lectures on true values. Yes, "Ever After" is a movie children and adults should watch and not just for the lessons to be learned from it but for the entertainment as well.

This version of Cinderella became more of a novel than a fairytale. No more fairygodmother; no more pumpkins turning into something else; and etc. The made it appear like it can happen in real life.

You are definitely right. I truly love the movie because it's so educative and good for everyone regardless of age. I can watch it several times a day.

True. This film just showed how somebody that's not so well-off can be educated just by reading and being aware of the things happening around; how someone who have been almost damned can still be the kind person he/she had used to be; how somebody can be at the top by just fighting for and doing what is right and what is good for everybody. It showed the power of choice.

Did you know that the painting that Leonardo De Vinci gave to Drew Berrymoore's character for a wedding present and Prince Henry said it looked nothing like her, it was a real painting by the real Leonardo De Vinci? I didn't know it until I seen it on an art site.
